Wolverine and Storm.

  1. There was a point where storm was rocking, the "rock star" look? Lol. This is news to me!

  2. You didn't know that?! Yeah, she had the FULL mohawk for a good part of the 1980's, Lisha! She must have had that look for a good couple of years actually.

  3. Yeaah I'll admit I didn't read much Marvel, lol, hell it took watching the X-Men movie to get into liking X-Men. Lol I know it's sad but true.

  4. Ah that's no problemo! I mean just like 3 or 4 short years ago I knew next to nothing about the DCU! Now I've read THOUSANDS of DC books and cpould honestly say that there was a time when I loved DC as much, if not more than Marvel. Maybe one day, especially if they don't fix WW for you, you'll wind up coming over to the Marvel side!

  5. Wow just 3-4 years? Man you really know your DC stuff, I would've thought you'd been reading DC for a good 10 years.

And X, I'm going to say I am so borderline on being on the Marvel side, as well as other comic companies (Image, Zenescope). I've picked up some She hulk trades, Ms. Marvel (lol if I'm not mistaken I believe you hate her) and already looking forward to picking up some X-Men trades, as well as some Avengers stuff.

So if you have ANY recommendations, please feel free to swing em this way. Because I'm quickly running out of DC trades as well as single issues that interest me. I think I'm down to reading Batgirl, Birds, PG and Gen Lost.

  6. Yep, it's only been about 4 years, but once I decided I'd start reading DC books, I REALLY started reading DC books! I was buying full run of some series off of eBay like every day! I still own more Marvel comics, but not by that much. I mean I had packages of comics coming in the mail literally every day some weeks!

Hmm, recommendations... I'd say give X-23 a shot. I hate the character, but Marjorie Lui has done a GREAT job writing that series. I've always been REAL high on Captain America, and I know JT has the first trade for the series, so maybe that might be worth borrowing. JT also has a mess of Spider-Man comics, if you aren't reading those, I'd definitely call them worth it. Hell, I'd just grab whatever JT is reading and give them a shot! They're free! :P

  7. I didn't realize you'd been reading DC for such a short time either, X. With your crazy DC knowledge, I had the feeling you'd been reading it for almost as long as Marvel!

For other Marvel stuff, Falisha, feel free to look at any of my Marvel reviews: http://with-great-power.blogspot.com/search/label/Marvel
I've reviewed quite a few Captain America and Iron Man books. And of course, you can look at the Timeline on my blog for a HUGE list of links to different Marvel trades.

More to the point of this actual image, though, why is it that Wolverine feels impelled to make out with the nearest female every time he thinks he's going to die? Just think about how many times he and Jean Grey kissed in the two or three years before her death alone. Is there something about the prospect of death that just gets Wolvie, you know..."excited"?

  8. Yep, it hasn't been a LONG time, but I've read through/researched a LOT of DC characters/storylines/events in that time. Like I said, eBay is SO helpful to somebody who seriously wants to get into a certain series or like me, entire company.
