Superbat and Not-So-Superman

This is from one of my favorite stories, Superman/Batman "Superbat", I'd definitely recommend it, you see what happens when Superman finally becomes human, and Batman gets his Kryptonian powers.

Holy Purple Punches!!!

Good thing Batman and Robin have that Purple Aura surrounding their punches and kicks or they would actually have to put work into knocking out those thugs...

The Random Scan of the Week!

I love that Batman is looking at Jason like he's some sort of item at a store or something... "Hmm, do I want to buy this or not..."

These pictures sure make Batman look bad...

Poor Dick Grayson... First he loses his parents to some mobster. Then he winds up with Batman, where THIS keeps happening! Sheesh, I don't recall Bats smacking Tim or Jason around like this! Every time Dick gives Bats some lip in some comic book you're reading, remember THESE scenes and know that Bats deserves way worse than Dick is giving him!

The Batman is a jerk! Part two!

Damn, not only is Bats a jerk, he's a bully too! What's next Bruce, are you gonna kick a puppy or push an old woman into the street!?

The Batman is a jerk!

Poor Dick... Seriously, it's bad enough Bats made him wear that green speedo, did he have to carry him around like a little puppy as well?!

Batman #424(Oct. 1988)

Yeah, the writing was on the wall regarding Jason Todd's future(or lack there of)by this point... You know what the sad thing is? If Jason Todd would have been introduced just a few years later, during the kill-happy 1990's, he probably would have easily wound up surpassing Dick Grayson in popularity...

Batman #416(Feb. 1988)

Remember when I posted the pre-Crisis meeting between Dick Grayson and Jason Todd?(If you don't, here it is) Well, after the Crisis, DC decided to change up the first meeting between Dick and Jason, and the preceding scene is what happens during that meeting. In my humble opinion, had DC stuck with the original meeting, there wouldn't have been such a fan backlash against young Jason, and that means there's probably a good chance he wouldn't have suffered his grisly fate. I can't help but wonder how things could have been different had Dick accepted Jason as his replacement, instead of resenting him... So, am I right or wrong? What do you guys think?

Detective Comics #581(Dec. 1987)

Jeez, I guess Bruce has never heard of child labor laws...

Detective Comics #571(Feb. 1987)

Maybe it's just me and I'm reading too deeply into things, but MAN was I getting a weird vibe off of some of Batman's dialogue here...

Batman #368(Feb. 1984)

Welcome to Jason Todd week, here at the always awesome Uncanny Comic Book Scans. Who is Jason Todd you ask? He was Batman's second Robin, a character who was never given a fair shake in the DCU during his short time as the Boy Wonder, and a character who is still being written terribly to this day.Wow, the original Tim Drake Robin outfit was actually pretty close to Jason's original costume...This was the first pre-Crisis appearance of Jason Todd as Robin. I kind of wonder if things would have been different if DC hadn't changed up his origin/how he became Robin and Dick Grayson's somewhat negative reaction to it post-Crisis...

Nightwing #14(Nov. 1997)

What better way to start Nightwing week off then by posting two pages of Dick admonishing Bruce? I don't know what I like more about this scene, the fact that Dick actually tells Bruce off for a change, or Bruce's meek reaction to it!

Batman: Knightfall Part Two: Who Rules The NightTPB(1993)

Yes, when Batman screamed at Robin to shut up, I laughed out loud... The look on Robin's face was just priceless!

Batman: Knightfall Part One: Broken Bat TPB(1993)

Sorry, but I can't help but smile whenever Bats really takes it to Joker like he does here.
