Ha, yeah, I got such a kick out of that pic. But just for the record, that is Tim as Robin, but Batman isn't Bruce, it's Jean-Paul Valley. Azrael made a HORRIBLE Batman! He treated his Robin even worse then Bruce treats his Robins, and that's really saying something!
Ahhh that explains alot. What a d-bag. I hate the whole Azrael character to be honest, especially the new one. I agree Bruce shoulda just gave Dick the costume and let him take over for a while.
Knightsend was nowhere NEAR as good as the first or even the second trade. It wasn't horrible or anything, it just didn't come close to the awesomeness that was the first trade. Knightsend just had too many background stories going on, it should have just dealt with Azrael and Bats, but instead it was all over the map.
Oh man, you name it... Azrael's insanity(which was kind of cool)some arms dealer, big dudes walking around in armor, Catwoman for some reason trying to steal something from an arms dealer, Bruce training with Lady Shiva(which was OK)Bruce facing down armies of ninjas... And that's just some of it! The problem with Knightsend was that instead of focusing it on the Batman books, other books like Catwoman were brought in(I guess to boost sales)which led to alot of unnecessary clutter.
I hate when comics branch out like that because unless you pick up the trade its confusing to get Batman 458 then Catwoman 127 then Detective Comics 274. Plus yeah like you said it's usually so cluttered and crappily pieced together. But the first two trades were awesome right?
Agreed. To many cooks in the kitchen spoil the meal(or something like that!).
The first trade was great, the second one was pretty good, although it fell off a bit quality wise, and the third trade was kind of sucktacular. I would definitely recommend the first trade, just to see Bruce really pushed, and for the various villains. If you're really into the story go ahead and grab the second one, and if you're still really into the story, give the third one a shot. Who knows, maybe you'll like it more then I did.
Oh, BTW I saw over at IGN that they have a trailer for Arkham Asylum 2 up already! That was a shocker for me, I figured the next game was WAYS off.
I've never heard that phrase but I immediately thought of an episode of Hell's Kitchen.
Hm...good advice. I think I shall pick up the first one since nothing I'm interested in reading comes out tomorrow except Batman 694.
So Did I, once again we thought the same because I literally mentioned it on this blog in a comment, guess you hadn't gotten to it yet lol. But yeah, I can't wait for the next Arkham. Rumors are from the trailer it'll have Penguin, Black Mask, Two-face and possible Catwoman!
Ha, yeah, right after posting this, I saw your comments on Arkham 2 on a different post! Black Mask, Two-Face and Catwoman equals AWESOMENESS! Penguin equals the complete opposite of AWESOMENESS! In my perfect video game world, we'd get Mask, Face and Catwoman as villains, plus the option to play as Robin(Jinx)or Nightwing(Dick). To me the only thing that hurt Arkham 1 was the lack of Tim/Dick. If Tim(or Dick)were playable in the next game, I'd be ready to proclaim it the GREATEST GAME EVER right now!
I'd love to play as Nightwing, I could live with or without the Jinx. I could see why they weren't in the last one because Bruce was supposed to feel alone in a long fight. I'm hoping we get Face, Mask, Catwoman, and reappearances by Scarecrow, Bane and Harley & Joker. Man I wish we had more info on this game.
I could def see Jinx as Robin in the game more than Dick unfortunately. Yeah, Scarecrow should def be back again, he did show up at the end of the first one, so hopefully that means he'll be back. Waiting for new info is going to be BRUTAL!
Yeah Scarecrow showed up at the end but don't forget so did Bane and Croc depending which random scene you got, so maybe they'll reappear too?
I agree the waiting is gonna be torture, I was on the Arkham boards today though and found out next year there's a PG-13 Batman animated film going to DVD called Batman: Under The Red Hood. I'm REALLY hoping this will be the animated debut of a certain Jason Todd since there's the comic of the same name. It could be Joker but I'm hoping it's JT.
I'd be happy if all three of those guys showed up in the sequel. Hell, Bats never really beat Croc, he just ran from him, so I'd like to see Bats have to take Croc on one on one to the finish in the next game.
Yeah, my sister actually told me about that movie, it sure seems like Jason is going to be the guy under the red hood in that one. See, when that one comes out I'll def pick it up. I'll prob just DL it to my PS3, and watch it.
Maybe they were saving the Croc fight for the second game? Save with Scarecrow since Bats never really got a clean shot in on Crow the entire game. Crow kept running away, and after all the hell Crow put Bats through, I'd have loved to see Bats just deck Crow.
Same here, Kevin IS Batman to me when it comes to animated stuff.
Yeah man, more Scarecrow parts would be sweet. They fit in to the game so nicely. That would be great, but since the game seems to be ignoring all of the Robins, that looks pretty unlikely.
I'd love more Scarecrow parts. I just wanna see what they do with Two-Face really, I'm very excited to see his model, and Catwoman's and Black Mask's. Also, since Penguin, Black Mask and Two-Face are all hinted to be in, maybe this game will have gang wars?
Mmmm, that's a good posibility. I just wonder how they'd work Joker into the gang wars storyline. If they do go through with a story like that you'd think there would at least be a cameo by Dick and Tim... Hopefully!
I'd love for that to happen. I don't know if Joker's gonna even have a big role, I mean I want him to, but he's still recovering from the first game as we saw in the trailer, plus Mark claims he's done voicing Joker but I think he can be coerced.
Jeez, I hope that's not true about Mark and the voiceover stuff. DC, throw as much money at that guy as it takes!!!
I guess they could do the whole gang wars storyline, and after you beat Black Mask and think the game is over you have to deal with one Joker level with Joker as the final, real boss. I'd be cool with that.
Yeah I remember him saying it alot when Arkham was going on in the interviews, but he just did the trailer so maybe he'll keep going. I really hope he does.
I'd definitely be fine with that. I think Two-Face would be the main boss over Black Mask though if Joker doesn't make an appearance.
Well, since he did do the second game, maybe he's changed his mind or sommething. At least I hope so.
Eh, I'd be fine with either one, I just said Black Mask because he was the guy behind the gang war storyline originally, and it seems that he's going to become a big part of the Bat-world again. Personally I like Two-Face more though.
Well apparently they haven't said if he's doing the second game, they just had him voice Joker in the trailer for the new game, but we don't know if he's in it. I really hope he is though.
I just lean towards two face because Two-Face in Batman 2 kinda writes itself but I wouldn't be disappointed in Black Mask carrying the game.
Well, you'd think if he was willing to lend his voice to the trailer, you've got to think that he'd be willing to do some voice work for the game as well.
Yeah, like you said, I wouldn't mind Two-Face, but either guy seems like a solid choice to me.
That's what I was thinking so I'm sure he'll do some more games. Arkham is definitely on my look out list for this upcoming year, I can't wait for more info.
Lmao how can Dick or Tim..whoever that is, STill be loyal to Bruce, he has like constant Roid Rage.
ReplyDeleteHa, yeah, I got such a kick out of that pic. But just for the record, that is Tim as Robin, but Batman isn't Bruce, it's Jean-Paul Valley. Azrael made a HORRIBLE Batman! He treated his Robin even worse then Bruce treats his Robins, and that's really saying something!

ReplyDeleteHeh, well if you read the Knightfall/Knightsend story, you'll probably hate him even more!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you're right. So I'm assuming you finished Knightsend, did it ever get good or did it pale in comparison to the other two?
ReplyDeleteKnightsend was nowhere NEAR as good as the first or even the second trade. It wasn't horrible or anything, it just didn't come close to the awesomeness that was the first trade. Knightsend just had too many background stories going on, it should have just dealt with Azrael and Bats, but instead it was all over the map.
ReplyDeleteWhat else was there to even deal with besides Batman and Azrael?
ReplyDeleteOh man, you name it... Azrael's insanity(which was kind of cool)some arms dealer, big dudes walking around in armor, Catwoman for some reason trying to steal something from an arms dealer, Bruce training with Lady Shiva(which was OK)Bruce facing down armies of ninjas... Good point, how would you do a Croc fight though without making it exactly like the Bane and the Titan fights?
ReplyDeleteAwesome I gotta see that now, I just hope Conroy voices Bats, I really hate when its not him now that i'm spoiled by his Voice Over work.
Maybe they were saving the Croc fight for the second game? Save with Scarecrow since Bats never really got a clean shot in on Crow the entire game. Crow kept running away, and after all the hell Crow put Bats through, I'd have loved to see Bats just deck Crow.
ReplyDeleteSame here, Kevin IS Batman to me when it comes to animated stuff.
I'd love for some more of Bruce's fears to be revealed in this game, I doubt it but a mention of Jason during one would be sweet.
ReplyDeleteExactly, if it's not Kevin or Mark I don't wanna hear it. And Arleen IS Harley so I can't even imagine anyone else voicing her.
Yeah man, more Scarecrow parts would be sweet. They fit in to the game so nicely. That would be great, but since the game seems to be ignoring all of the Robins, that looks pretty unlikely.
