Where the hell was he anyway? I know that's not the fortress of solitude with all those monitors. Solitude and like 90's tv's is an oxymoron. Must be one of Bruce's many safe houses.
Nah, I think(but could be wrong)that Supes was in the Fortress. If you look real close at the picture it appears that the wall to the side of the screens is ice or snow. I'd actually be interested in learning more about that particular Supes storyline...
Yeah I see it now that you pointed it out. I wanna know where he got the money to afford all those tv's, who installed them in the fortress and how he harnesses electricity. Bruce is Rich but Clark is just Clark...
I'd also be interested in reading more about that, if you look it up lemme know.
Ha, the point about the electricity is awesomely funny! How exactly DID Supes pull that one off... Now we know where Supes money from the Daily Planet goes to. Lots and lots of TV's.
Lol exactly. Imagine someone checking his credit card bill and just seeing hundreds of TV's and an electric bill in Alaska. I know Lois is pissed, she's already the breadwinner but now she has to pay the rent too?!
Clark's a hell of a guy because If I had his powers I'd be in the NBA or something that'd make me a ton of money. Maybe that makes me a bad guy or something but eh.
No, I totally agree. And to be honest, I always thought it was kind of... I can't really think of the word... Maybe immoral for Clark to work as a reporter reporting on the exploits of his alter-ego. That's completely not fair to other reporters/newspapers! Of course Lois is always getting scoops/awards, she's married to the lead story in Metropolis!
Exactly! That's like placing bets on another team then throwing the game. Lois' pulitzer's and whatnot are all a sham. That's gotta be somewhat illegal or something right?
I couldn't have put it better myself. It bugs me so much that Lois has all these awards, basically because she has an unfair advantage because of who her hubby is! Same thing with Spider-Man. He makes all of his money photographing Spider-Man. How is that fair for all the other photographers? He has a huge advantage over everybody else,
Right? He's just photographing himself and then the one other guy who catches pics of Spidey ends up going all crazy and becomes Venom. Thanks alot Petey you selfish SOB. So Lois Lane and Peter Parker are both frauds because of their unfair advantages um...who else does that?
Hmm, who else secretly cashes in because of their secret identity? Huh, off the top of my head, nobody is coming to mind... I'll have to think on this one for a while.
Yeah, I've got to say, Peter has always rubbed me the wrong way with how he opperates. The dude takes the time to set up a camera while some crime is occuring so he can sell the pics later... What kind of hero waits to set up a frigging camera before jumping in to help someone?!?
Lmao...right? Because if he's fiddling with his camera and someone gets killed, it's on him because he could have stopped it. Also I've always wondered why he wants MJ so bad when Black Cat is soooo much more fun.
MJ is like that life-long crush, while BC is that really exciting girl. If you were going to settle down, the life-long crush is prob a better bet then the wild girl.
Sadly Peter can't because he made a deal with the devil to save his 90 year old aunt and gave up his hot supermodel wife and their inevitable Kid....that's a bad decision if I say so myself.
Pfft, no. Who wouldn't trade their uber-hot wife and their happy life together so his old aunt(who will prob be dead of natural causes soon anyway!)can keep on living? Man was that an AWFUL storyline!
Lmao That's what I was thinking but I didn't wanna be so blunt. I luckily came along to Marvel after that gem of a storyline but it sounds SO bad I'm happy. I can't picture Aunt May outliving anyone, I definitely woulda went with MJ.
Bluntness is one of the traits we New Yorkers are born with! Right after that storyline was when I dropped the Spider-man titles. I mean come on, the whole idea behind that story is just ridiculous! Then again, Spidey was written horendously leading up to Civil War, so maybe I shouldn't be so surprised.
I still can't believe they had him unmask on TV. What friggin loyalty can you have to Tony Stark that has you dumb enough to do that. I mean no one hides their identity as well as Spidey, hell more people knew who Batman was than Spidey.
Yep, that was right around the time I started to become REALLY disillusioned by the direction Marvel was moving. They basically stuck Tony with Spidey for a few months, and then before you know it, Spidey is all to happy to reveal his ID on live television! Spider-Man was probably the MOST paranoid character in all of Marvel when it came to his secret identity, so for him to simply unmask was the height of stupidity in my book.
I still can;t believe they had him do that. I liked reading Civil War but that damn near ruined it for me. Hell Peter has WAY too many enemies to endanger them all by unmasking on TV. Seeing what happened to him would just make me even more Anti-Reg.
Ugh, I hated Civil War from the outset. The way the New Warriors were treated to Captain America becoming a fugitive, that story really hurt the Marvel U. There were some pretty cool parts, but to me, the negative well outweighed the positive.
Yeah, Spidey thought that his family would be safe because he's an Avenger and his family was safe living in Avengers Tower... OK, maybe that's true, but what about all of his friends? Wouldn't they still be in grave danger just for knowing him? That was just the dumbest move ever.
Well the unmasking would definitely be around the top. The entire New Avengers concept is also pretty high on the list, they just aren't the Avengers, they're just an assortment of Marvel's most popular characters. Superman singing Darksied to death def should get honorable mention. Marvel removing most of the mutants from their Universe might just be the single dumbest move of all time. That's all I can think of for now, I'm sure more will come to me though...
Well you definitely hit me with a few agreeable moments. I forgot about the Sultry sounds of Superman. As well as Marvel who's Mutant central removing their mutants, that is just plain dumb. So who did the New Avengers consist of?
"I forgot about the Sultry sounds of Superman." HA!!! I wish I could have forgotten about that!
The thing that bugged me about BENDIS' New Avengers was the fact that BENDIS basically took a bunch of characters who were very popular, but never a part of the Avengers and stuck them on the team with Cap and Iron Man. It was like, let's take Spider-Man, who's always been a loner, and Wolverine, who would never pass the Avengers "No Killing" rules and place them on the team for no reason other then the fact that they're really popular with the fans. The New Avengers was more like Marvel's all-star team, as opposed to a team of Avengers.
Superman sings the Classics, coming to you soon, and don't forget about his Christmas CD featuring such hits as "Metallo the Green Hearted Robot" and "Twelve Days of Krypton" in stores now!
Hm....so yeah Spidey is a loner and Wolverine kills people more than he uses the bathroom so you're definitely right about that. So are they still in the Avengers?
HA!!! That first paragraph is so awesome that it hurts! I wish DC could get wind of that and put out such a CD! I know I'd download it!
Yep, both guys are still Avengers... Plus you've got Hawkeye running around as Ronin the ninja, which just about drives me insane everytime I see it... The dude is THE greatest archer in all of the Marvel U... When the HELL did he transform into a ninja!?!? It's stupid things like that that makes reading an issue of New Avengers so painful.
Lol I did feel proud of myself for Twelve Days of Krypton. I'd definitely get a DC Christmas CD. Plus I recall an episode of JLU where Kevin Conroy was singing as Batman and that was great.
Lol wait, so why'd he change his name because of the Dark Avengers or something?
Singing Batman?!? Jeez, he must have been crazy or drunk or something!
No, if memory serves me right, he changed his name at the end of House of M because he was killed when he was Hawkeye, or some dumb BS like that... Umm, heroes die and come back all the time and don't then change their entire look/gimmick... That would be like if Hal Jordan returned from the grave as a one-eyed flame spitting pirate! It just doesn't make sense!
He had to sing because Circe turned Wonder Woman into a pig or something. It was weird but he sounded really good. Check him out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-GVG1YLllw
Lol that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. At least when Booster was Supernova it made sense but that just sounds idiotic. So when he was dead he got Ninja training?
Yeah, with the Booster/Supernova thing, it was pretty much Booster just switching from one super-powered suit to another, no big leap. However going from an archer to a ninja seems to be a pretty big leap to me. Supposedly because he spent so much time training with Captain America he suddenly had ninja skills, go figure that one out...
Think of Cap like you would think of Bruce. They are both masters of practically every known martial art. I have no idea when Cap learned it, but I'm sure Cap would have some ninja training.
Yeah, I guess that's a fair way of looking at things. Cap is DEFINITELY brighter and happier then Bruce though! There are some obvious differences(Bruce is rich, Steve is more of an everyman), but there are also some glaring similarities(both are highly trained fighters, are revered by their teammates and both have lost a teenage sidekick who later returned to menace them).
Damn I never even thought of the sidekick turned menace thing. So If Cap has that super soldier serum and Slade has somewhat of the same thing, who do you take in Captain America vs. Deathstroke?
As much as I love Slade, I'd NEVER bet against Cap in a fight. The dude wears the flag, how can you bet agianst THAT! ;) Seriously though, in all honestly, I would take Cap. While Slade IS flat out awesome, he does tend to lose a lot(the dude was beaten by Booster Gold OFF PANEL!), while Cap almost always finds a way to win. That's hard to argue with.
Lmao I forgot about Booster beating him up off panel, they really screwed us in that issue. So you think Slade vs. Bruce would be even but Slade vs. Cap would have Cap win, yet Bruce vs. Cap is also a tie? Interesting...lol. Wanna explain that?
Oh no, I think Cap WOULD beat Bruce... Eventually... After like 2 straight hours of fighting! I think Bruce even said that to Cap in the Avengers/JLA x-over. They were battling and Bruce said something like why bother fighting, we're too evenly matched, which means Bruce would eventually tire while Cap stayed strong thanks to the Super Soldier Serum. Nah, when it comes down to a one-on-one fight with no super-powers, I take Cap every time.
Ah so in other words Bruce knew he'd lose so used his genius-ness to end a fight he knew he couldn't win. Clever Bruce...clever. What about a fight between their two "evil" sidekicks?
Yep, Bruce figured out what would happen by testing Cap's abilities, and decided the fight just wouldn't be worth the effort on his part. Wait, are you saying you've never read the Avengers/JLA mini-series? Cause if that's the truth, you've GOT to pick that up!
Well, I hate to say this to you, but right now, with the characters the way they're currently being written, Bucky would win hands down. It probably wouldn't even be close! Now, If we take Bucky's current version, and have him face off against Jason back when he was awesome, THAT would be a way closer fight. Since Bucky has like 50+ years of fighting experience, hand to hand he'd win, but Smart Jason wouldn't take Bucky on head to head, he'd strike at him from a distance, like he did to Bruce. Man, I don't know... THAT would be a great battle. I'd probably still go with Bucky, but I doubt Smart Jason would allow himself to get arrested, I figure he'd get away to fight another day.
Honestly, I have it but I just haven't read it yet, but I'm gonna read it today and by the time you reply to this post I'll have read it and be ready to comment.
So what's Bucky doing now, because I thought I recalled reading he'd taken over as Cap but now that Cap is back whats going on?
Cool. There were definitely a lot of things about that mini that went a bit over my head, but overall, it was the BEST Marvel/DC x-over I'd ever read. Plus George Perez's artwork was just flat out spectacular. I mean, I rarely notice art in a comic, but his work in that mini was frigging beautiful!
Ha, good question... Officially, the Cap: Reborn mini hasn't ended, so he's still Cap, but since the Cap: Reborn mini is running SO far behind, I actually read an Avengers comic that was set AFTER the mini-series ended, which pretty much gives away the ending! According to that Avengers comic, it looks like Bucky is going to remain Cap for the time being, and Steve Rogers is just going to be plain old Steve Rogers for now.
I started it but I ended up sleeping early because I woke up WAY earlier than I intended but I think I'm gonna review it at JTCS later this week. So how many only Marvel/DC crossovers are there? I can only think of this, the other one that had Robin and Jubilee fight, and the one where they combined all the Heroes to make Super Solider and Dark Claw and such.
Really? Kinda how I picture things being when Bruce comes back. Kinda weird that Mini-series is so far behind..kinda like Flash Rebirth eh?
There was also an Uncanny X-Men/Teen Titans one from back in the early 1980's that had Deathstroke, Darkseid and Dark Pheonix in it that was pretty cool. If not for Avengers/JLA, the Teen Titans/X-Men one would prob be my fav. I'm sure there are prob a few others that I'm blanking on though...
Yet another goof up by the geniuses at Marvel. "Hey, even though Cap: Reborn #6 isn't out yet, let's release a bunch of comics that tell the readers exactly how that mini is supposed to end!" Idiots!
For what it was, it actually WAS pretty good. There were a few cool moments like Slade vs Wolvie. I haven't read that series is ages... Maybe one day I'll dig it out and give it a reread.
Yeah, that's exactly what I thought. It's not like they're bringing some c-list character back, Cap's one of their biggest names! Very bad work by the editorial staff for letting those comics get released in the wrong order like that.
Oh man that sounds awesome? Who won that fight? And who else faced off? It may convince me to go grab it this weekend.
That's like messing up Bruce's upcoming return r Supes back in 1993. I think it was 93. You ever read that Superman Red Superman Blue stuff? If so how was that?
Let's see, *pulls out copy of X-Men/Titans* The Teen Titans attack Prof. X, Wolvie and Slade are actually REALLY evenly matched, but Slade is able to defeat both Colossus and Storm, then of course you have the big brouhaha between the combined X-Men and Titans against Darkseid and Dark Phoenix. Hmm, I think I'll give this comic another read tonight...
Nah, I saw some ads for it in an issue of Superboy, but it didn't look good enough for me to actually plunk down the money for it.
If you're looking for some good Superman arcs, I'd simply say two words, Geoff Johns! ;-) Geoff had a run on Action Comics that was really fantastic. "Last Son" was amazingly good, there was a hilarious Bizarro storyline he did, as well as a decent Brainiac arc, which led into the New Krypton stuff. If I had to pick one, I'd say buy Last Son. That was a really awesome story. As usual, you can't go wrong with Geoff!
Luckily I already read Last Son, the introduction of Chris Kent which i loved. I would like to hear more about that Bizarro storyline though if you feel like explaining. :)
Let's see, the Bizarro storyline had Bizarro kidnap Pa Kent and take him to Bizarro World for some reason... I'm blanking on why right now though... Anyway, Bizarro's secret identity on Bizarro World gets blown, and Bizarro Lex Luthor and the Bizarro JLA sets out to eliminate Bizarro. Plus Supes wants his old man back, and on Bizarro World, Supes is feared as hideous and pure evil. The whole story was only like 3 issues long, but it was some of the funniest stuff I've read recently.
I read that! Lol The one where he has Superman vision and zaps Pa Kent and he temporarily has all of Supes powers too. Man I loved that, it was just a nice fun issue.
Yep, that was the one! I loved how the Bizarros all kept announcing that Bizarro Lex was bald. That comic had me laughing out loud a whole mess of times!
Yeah, that's the awesomeness of Bizarro World. Just take everything you know and reverse it! Hey you know, instead of killing off everyone who gets close to him, Bizarro Jinx probably brings good luck to all of his freinds and loved ones!
Ha yeah, Bizarro Jason Todd gets all of the best storylines, and nobody ever punks him out! That kind of wants to make me read about Bizarro Jason Todd... DC, I DEMAND you put out a Bizarro JT comic!
He blew Joker up...Man...imagine Bizarro Joker, he's be so sane. He's probably the Lex Luthor of Bizarro's. Bizarro Clayface would be like the Thing. Man Bizarro land is fun.
"*Does my best Mon-El impression* Bizarro speaks in opposites which means it's great and he IS happy to hear that!" That had me almost LITERALLY rolling on the floor in hysterical laughter! I still have to shake my head that Mon-El actually had to EXPLAIN that Bizarro speaks in opposites, like there were these confused Superman fans reading that comic thinking, "Wait, so Bizarro doesn't want to kill anybody?"
Lol right? If someone doesn't know that at this point I think the main thing they'd be confused about is where the hell is Supes and who's Mon-El? Btw El must be a famous Surname because what are the odds that Kal-El would meet Mon-El and their both from two different planets? Lol
Ha, that's a great point! If anything, Mon should have been explaining who he was and where Supes was, especially since the title of the comic is "Superman"!!!
Wait, you do know that Supes gave Mon his name, right? If ya didn't, his real name is Lar Gand.
Exactly! That's like if the Catwoman series was headed by Huntress...it's like why are you here? So is that all Mon El or do Guardian and Steel also pop up in that comic?
AHHH I feel so dumb. I completely forgot about that...I read that issue too which makes me feel even dumber. Brainiac overload!!!
Hey, you know, I'd be down with a Catwoman series that was headed by Huntress. Sure it would be as confusing as hell, but I'd definitely buy it! It's pretty much 75% Mon-El, 20% Guardian and 5% Steel. Steel was in it a lot more in the beginning, but then he went into a coma and only just woke up, so the Steel ratio should definitely improve in the future!
Nah, what you should have said was that you were testing me to see if I knew! That's another great excuse!
Atlas beat Steel into a coma if I remember correctly. He just woke up in the most recent issue of Supes actually. As for Natasha, she's been working undercover for Gen. Lane's secret program. Every so often she'll pop up(like in the most recent issue of Supes!), but that's how they've explained her absence.
"that was deliciou...I mean Delightful" HA!!! Damn that tricky Brainiac!!!
I don't regularly read SG, so I'm kind of out of the loop with her. That might be the case, I think she's living with Lana, but that might just be a cover story or something.
Right? That seems so weird...would we call it Lexiac? Their just on the run having kids...Everything about that just seems awkward.
Um...I'd say thumbs middle...some of the stuff entertained by but some of it I hated...seemed like Geo-Force was on drugs for the whole issue...and alot of stuff was unexplained to me, but maybe you can interpret it.
"Lexiac"? That sounds like some kind of exotic car! :-)
Man, the way you put it, "Their just on the run having kids", makes it sound even weirder! And here I always thought Lex hated all aliens... I guess he's finally found the right one for him!
Hmm, thumbs in the middle, huh? That's not exactly filling me with tons of hope... I've been thinking of cutting down some of my monthly titles(Magog, Outsiders, most of the x-titles), so unless this storyarc really impresses me, I think I'll prob be saying bye-bye to the Outsiders.
Yeah right? Lex hates aliens and wants to make the world a better place so instead of siding with Supes who saves the planet all the time he sides with Brainiac who wants to take all of earth's knowledge and destroy it?
I mean, It just seemed weird to me. Too many random personality changes. It's like I'm used to Geo-Force being a leader but feeling conflicted after the stuff with Deathstroke but in this issue he was just an asshole...I'm curious to see your thoughts as usual though.
Maybe Lex's favorite color is green? Who knows why Lex does the things he does... He's one mixed up megalomaniac!
Well, I'm figuring I should have that issue of the Outsiders sometime towards the end of this week, provided my books don't get lost in the mail again!!!
Yeah I can see Lex hating Primary colors. I mean Brainiac looks more like an Alien then Supes who looks like a big beefy Human but whatever floats your billion dollar Yacht Lexy.
Oh mean don't even bring that up. I'M still upset that they lost your comics. What if it just came like a year from now?
You know, maybe it's the fact that Brainiac actually looks like an alien that Lex likes. With Brainiac you know exactly what he is, he doesn't hide it. With Supes though, if he didn't tell you he was an alien you'd never know. Maybe Lex sees Supes as more dishonest or something crazy like that.
Dude, I don't care if it arrived TWO years from now, I just want my books! WHENEVER it arrives, I'll give whatever books are in that order(I barely even remember anymore!)a read.
Hm...that works for Lex. I mean if you wrote that as his dialogue in a comic I'd definitely believe it. More of the evil you know than the evil you don't kinda deal. Good answer.
All i recall is BN Titans 2 and BN Superman 2 right?
BN Titans #1 & 2 and BN Supes #2 were in that order, but I'll be damned if I can remember what else was in there! Maybe a Nova and a Guardians of the Galaxy, I think a Secret Six as well... Oh, and I think an issue of JL: Cry for Justice as well. I'm sure there were a mess of other books as well... I keep forgetting to send yet ANOTHER message to the PO and my CB shop to pester them some more. Once I sign off here tonight, I think I'll send them an e-mail.
Doesn't that remind you of that Arc in Superman/Batman with the power switch? I so thought of that when I read that issue.
ReplyDeleteThat's one of the first things I thought about too! Watching all of those screens seems like such a Batman thing to do.
ReplyDeleteWhere the hell was he anyway? I know that's not the fortress of solitude with all those monitors. Solitude and like 90's tv's is an oxymoron. Must be one of Bruce's many safe houses.

ReplyDeleteHa, yeah, and not only is she paying the rent for their place, she's stuck paying the bills for Clark's bachelor pad too!
ReplyDeleteClark's a hell of a guy because If I had his powers I'd be in the NBA or something that'd make me a ton of money. Maybe that makes me a bad guy or something but eh.

ReplyDeleteTrue but half the time it seems like MJ doesn't even wanna be bothered with Peter.
ReplyDeleteYeah, nowadays I guess, but I can still fondly remember the good old days when Peter and MJ were happily married... Ah memories...
ReplyDeleteSadly Peter can't because he made a deal with the devil to save his 90 year old aunt and gave up his hot supermodel wife and their inevitable Kid....that's a bad decision if I say so myself.

However going from an archer to a ninja seems to be a pretty big leap to me. Supposedly because he spent so much time training with Captain America he suddenly had ninja skills, go figure that one out...
ReplyDeleteWait...so Captain America has ninja training? Now I'm completely lost....Damn you Marvel!!!
ReplyDeleteThink of Cap like you would think of Bruce. They are both masters of practically every known martial art. I have no idea when Cap learned it, but I'm sure Cap would have some ninja training.
ReplyDeleteAhhh so Cap is basically Marvel's equivalent as a brighter and happier Bruce Wayne?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I guess that's a fair way of looking at things.
ReplyDeleteDamn I never even thought of the sidekick turned menace thing. So If Cap has that super soldier serum and Slade has somewhat of the same thing, who do you take in Captain America vs. Deathstroke?
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love Slade, I'd NEVER bet against Cap in a fight.
ReplyDeleteLmao I forgot about Booster beating him up off panel, they really screwed us in that issue. So you think Slade vs. Bruce would be even but Slade vs. Cap would have Cap win, yet Bruce vs. Cap is also a tie? Interesting...lol. Wanna explain that?
ReplyDeleteOh no, I think Cap WOULD beat Bruce...
ReplyDeleteAh so in other words Bruce knew he'd lose so used his genius-ness to end a fight he knew he couldn't win. Clever Bruce...clever. What about a fight between their two "evil" sidekicks?
ReplyDeleteYep, Bruce figured out what would happen by testing Cap's abilities, and decided the fight just wouldn't be worth the effort on his part. Wait, are you saying you've never read the Avengers/JLA mini-series? Cause if that's the truth, you've GOT to pick that up!
ReplyDeleteWell, I hate to say this to you, but right now, with the characters the way they're currently being written, Bucky would win hands down.
ReplyDeleteSo what's Bucky doing now, because I thought I recalled reading he'd taken over as Cap but now that Cap is back whats going on?
ReplyDeleteHa, good question...
ReplyDeleteReally? Kinda how I picture things being when Bruce comes back. Kinda weird that Mini-series is so far behind..kinda like Flash Rebirth eh?
There was also an Uncanny X-Men/Teen Titans one from back in the early 1980's that had Deathstroke, Darkseid and Dark Pheonix in it that was pretty cool. If not for Avengers/JLA, the Teen Titans/X-Men one would prob be my fav. I'm sure there are prob a few others that I'm blanking on though...
ReplyDeleteYet another goof up by the geniuses at Marvel. "Hey, even though Cap: Reborn #6 isn't out yet, let's release a bunch of comics that tell the readers exactly how that mini is supposed to end!" Idiots!
That seems like a weird team up. But it was good? I may have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteMan Marvel is really dropping the ball over there. Cap returning seems like it would be too big of a thing to mess up.
For what it was, it actually WAS pretty good. There were a few cool moments like Slade vs Wolvie. I haven't read that series is ages... Maybe one day I'll dig it out and give it a reread.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's exactly what I thought. It's not like they're bringing some c-list character back, Cap's one of their biggest names! Very bad work by the editorial staff for letting those comics get released in the wrong order like that.
Oh man that sounds awesome? Who won that fight? And who else faced off? It may convince me to go grab it this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat's like messing up Bruce's upcoming return r Supes back in 1993.
ReplyDeleteNah, I saw some ads for it in an issue of Superboy, but it didn't look good enough for me to actually plunk down the money for it.
Ooh, I gotta pick that up if my shop has it. Sounds really good. Thanks for the info mon frere.
ReplyDeleteAh okay, I was always curious about it but it looks kinda lame at the same time...then again i've read much worse with Supes right?
Good luck finding that issue. It came out in 1982, so hopefully your CB shop has a really good back issue selection.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was one of those storylines I'm only vaguly familiar with, but was never really interested in giving it a read.
Damn....well nevermind lol. Maybe I'll check ebay out and see if I can find it on there or something.
ReplyDeleteSo if I asked you to recommend some good arcs with Supes what would you recommend?
If you're looking for some good Superman arcs, I'd simply say two words, Geoff Johns! ;-)
ReplyDeleteGeoff had a run on Action Comics that was really fantastic.
ReplyDeleteLet's see, the Bizarro storyline had Bizarro kidnap Pa Kent and take him to Bizarro World for some reason...
ReplyDeleteI read that! Lol The one where he has Superman vision and zaps Pa Kent and he temporarily has all of Supes powers too. Man I loved that, it was just a nice fun issue.
ReplyDeleteYep, that was the one! I loved how the Bizarros all kept announcing that Bizarro Lex was bald. That comic had me laughing out loud a whole mess of times!
ReplyDeleteI loved how Bizarro Green Lantern was Yellow and Bizarro Wonder Woman's lasso made you lie. Man Bizarro world seems SO confusing to me...
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's the awesomeness of Bizarro World. Just take everything you know and reverse it! Hey you know, instead of killing off everyone who gets close to him, Bizarro Jinx probably brings good luck to all of his freinds and loved ones!
ReplyDeleteHell, well can we switch him with our Tim Drake? And Their Jason probably gets good storylines...don't know about their jericho though lol.
ReplyDeleteHa yeah, Bizarro Jason Todd gets all of the best storylines, and nobody ever punks him out! That kind of wants to make me read about Bizarro Jason Todd... DC, I DEMAND you put out a Bizarro JT comic!
ReplyDeleteHe blew Joker up...Man...imagine Bizarro Joker, he's be so sane. He's probably the Lex Luthor of Bizarro's. Bizarro Clayface would be like the Thing. Man Bizarro land is fun.
ReplyDeleteJust thinking of Bizarro Joker blows my mind! He's probably really dour and plain. Hmm, kind of like Batman! Weird...
ReplyDeleteSee, if you really think about it, Bizarro land rules!
Hm...would he actually be Batman? That's something to think about.
ReplyDeleteYou win this round, you've converted me to a Bizarro land fan.
Exactly! Bizarro Joker sounds just like our Batman!
ReplyDeleteHorrible! Bizarro X-Man75 not happy to hear that!
Man that'd be a site to see...isn't Bizarro Bats called Batzarro?
ReplyDelete*Does my best Mon-El impression* Bizarro speaks in opposites which means it's great and he IS happy to hear that!
ReplyDeleteLol right? If someone doesn't know that at this point I think the main thing they'd be confused about is where the hell is Supes and who's Mon-El? Btw El must be a famous Surname because what are the odds that Kal-El would meet Mon-El and their both from two different planets? Lol
ReplyDeleteHa, that's a great point! If anything, Mon should have been explaining who he was and where Supes was, especially since the title of the comic is "Superman"!!!
ReplyDeleteWait, you do know that Supes gave Mon his name, right? If ya didn't, his real name is Lar Gand.
Exactly! That's like if the Catwoman series was headed by Huntress...it's like why are you here? So is that all Mon El or do Guardian and Steel also pop up in that comic?
ReplyDeleteAHHH I feel so dumb.
ReplyDeleteNah, what you should have said was that you were testing me to see if I knew! That's another great excuse!
How's Steel end up in a coma? Also what's been up with his niece Natasha, I haven't seen her since like 52.
ReplyDeleteI was...The dumb excuse was to try to get you to lower your guard down so I can take your comic knowledge without you being aware. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThere you go! That's better!
Well thanks for the info...that was deliciou...I mean Delightful :D Any idea whats going on with Supergirl? I heard Lana adopted her or something.
ReplyDelete"that was deliciou...I mean Delightful" HA!!! Damn that tricky Brainiac!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't regularly read SG, so I'm kind of out of the loop with her. That might be the case, I think she's living with Lana, but that might just be a cover story or something.
Yes, Brainiac, scourge of the universe and apparently having kids with Lex Luthor. He's a busy busy dude.
ReplyDeleteHm...Oh btw I read that new Outsiders Issue, I cant wait til you read it so I can hear what ya think.
Am I the only one just a tad creeped out by the prospect of Lex and brainiac fathering a kid together???
ReplyDeleteOh yeah? So what do you say, thumbs up, in the middle or down?
Right? That seems so weird...would we call it Lexiac? Their just on the run having kids...Everything about that just seems awkward.
ReplyDeleteUm...I'd say thumbs middle...some of the stuff entertained by but some of it I hated...seemed like Geo-Force was on drugs for the whole issue...and alot of stuff was unexplained to me, but maybe you can interpret it.
"Lexiac"? That sounds like some kind of exotic car! :-)
ReplyDeleteMan, the way you put it, "Their just on the run having kids", makes it sound even weirder!
Lol, I'd drive the hell outta a Lexiac. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYeah right?
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm figuring I should have that issue of the Outsiders sometime towards the end of this week, provided my books don't get lost in the mail again!!!
Yeah I can see Lex hating Primary colors. I mean Brainiac looks more like an Alien then Supes who looks like a big beefy Human but whatever floats your billion dollar Yacht Lexy.
ReplyDeleteOh mean don't even bring that up.
ReplyDeleteDude, I don't care if it arrived TWO years from now, I just want my books!
ReplyDeleteAll i recall is BN Titans 2 and BN Superman 2 right?
BN Titans #1 & 2 and BN Supes #2 were in that order, but I'll be damned if I can remember what else was in there! Maybe a Nova and a Guardians of the Galaxy, I think a Secret Six as well... Oh, and I think an issue of JL: Cry for Justice as well. I'm sure there were a mess of other books as well... I keep forgetting to send yet ANOTHER message to the PO and my CB shop to pester them some more. Once I sign off here tonight, I think I'll send them an e-mail.
ReplyDeleteKeep hope alive X, pester them until you get some type of discount or something/ Man that still grinds my gears.
ReplyDelete
