Spider-Man/Human Torch #5(July 2005)

Now THIS is a mini-series I DO remember! I loved this mini(as evident by the fact that I posted three pages from it)! This was how the Matchstick learned Peter Parker was Spider-Man... Well at least until the devil(Joe Quesada)made everybody forget Spidey's identity...

  1. Fantastic Four knows who Spidey is Comic King :P They found out back in like issue 592 and then they remembered all their pre-Spidey unmasking memories. :D

  2. I loved this miniseries too...one of my absolute favorite comics published in the last ten years. That last issue was a bit of a tearjerker too.

Oh, and the current Spidey writers actually had the Fantastic Four learn his identity again. It was actually probably about a year ago now. I guess they realized that it was just stupid for EVERYONE to have forgotten who he was. That's probably why Bendis had Spidey unmask in New Avengers as well.

  3. Lmao, Human Torch came off as a total doofus. Like come on now...EVERYONE knows what that hand signal means. Lol.

It does look like an interesting mini just from the scan. I love the art as well. ^_^

  4. Ah well, as you can see I haven't read any Spidey books since the whole devil garbage, so my Spidey knowledge from the past couple of years is severely lacking. But I am glad to hear that the FF knows who Spidey is, because they have such a long and storied history together.

TOTALLY agreed Marc! This was the mini that turned me into a Dan Slott fan(well, this mini as well as the all-to-short Thing series). I have NOTHING bad to say about this mini at all. Hell, now that I've pulled it out, I kind of want to give it a quick re-read!

  5. Just so you know Falisha, Ty Templeton did the pencils here, while Drew Geraci and Greg Adams did the inks.

  7. I loved Thing too...in fact, it was my favorite monthly book while it was still being published. Remember when it was on the verge of cancellation and there was that whole "Pull Dan Slott's Thing!" campaign? Haha, too funny...I'm just sad it didn't work in the book's favor. :(

  8. I can honestly say I'd never heard of the "Pull Dan Slott's Thing" campaign... I wish I had though, that's hilarious! Well, at least I've heard of it now! Dan also did some awesome work early on in the Avengers Initiative comic as well. He's def a real underrated writer.
