Black Canary: Wedding Planner #1(Nov. 2007)Black Canary #3(Oct. 2007)

Here we have Ollie and Dinah having a sparring session. And here we just have Dinah beating Ollie down.(Well, these aren't exactly pics of Ollie and Dinah having a fist fight, it's a start Jason)

  1. I'll definitely count this...should've made it tougher and said Dinah or Ollie in a fistfight with Batman...

  2. I could probably find pics of Ollie fighting like half of his JLA teammates!

You know, I found an even better pic last night in Green Arrow #40, where Dinah just completely decks Ollie. Maybe I'll post that pic sometime during the next few days.

  3. Lol Sweet, I'd love to see that, Dinah's probably my favorite woman of DC, I think I put her over Wonder Woman to be honest. Which is why it sucks that she's being treated like a second class citizen in her own co-comic while Cupid is in like every issue.

  4. Hey, there's something else we can agree on Jason, Dinah rules! WW's OK and all, but I'd take Dinah, Babs or even Spoiler/Batgirl over WW anyday.

  5. I agree with you there too dude, My list for my 5 favorite DC Women are Dinah, Babs, Harley Quinn, Selina Kyle and Wonder Woman. I do like Stephanie but she's not a fave yet, but she could get that way if her Batgirl series continues to stay as good as it is.

  6. I mainly dig Steph because of the lousy way she's always being treated by the other members of the Bat-family, not to mention the writers and editors. After reading War Games, where Steph was made a total scapegoat, and the fact that for the longest time DC refused to even acknowledge that she was ever a Robin, I feel bad for poor Steph.

I forgot about Catwoman... She's def high up on my list as well. Harley Quinn... Meh, I don't really care about her one way or the other, then again I really haven't read that much with her in it, so my thoughts on her could easily change.

  7. I think I just love the idea of Harley being so easily brainwashed by Joker, being the "good girl gone bad" because to me she's like your best friend's little sister who's nice but as she grows up hangs with the wrong crowd and suddenly is just a horrible person. Thats where my love for Harley comes from, the fact that she just wants attention from the wrong people.

And I agree Stephanie got screwed over big time, So she definitely deserves this run as Batgirl, hopefully it establishes her role in the Bat-family that she is ready for the big leagues, especially with Babs coaching her, although i am curious as to whats gonna happen with Cass.

  8. I got a real kick out of Harley in Batman: Arkham Asylum. Once I finally get around to reading Gotham City Sirens, my knowledge of Harley should really improve.

  9. I also loved her in B:AA, Sirens on the other hand is not very good...It may improve but its kinda bad, which is surprising for Dini...Its like he's trying to add women just for the sake of showing off their bodies, random Zatanna and Talia appearances for no reason...But maybe you'll think differently.

  10. I'll take any random Talia appearence I can get!

  11. Lol, Nothing against Talia, cause she is one of my favorites...I wanna tell you why it was so dumb but I dont wanna ruin the first two issues of Sirens for you..But it was SO unnecessary

  12. Ah, so it's one of those deals. She must show up for the most random/unnecessary reason. I should really just speed through Sirens just to get them out of the way.

  13. Issue 3 was pretty good, but Its not really Siren based...I've already said too much, but when you check it out let me know. I'd like to hear your thoughts on it.

  14. Yeah, once I read those issues(who knows when that'll be!)I'll def post some thoughts on them over at the other blog.

  15. I saw your thoughts on Killing Joke which I agreed with, right down to the dumb ending, one of my favorite Joker Origins was actually Batman Confidential's Lovers and Madmen arc because it made Joker seem like a guy who was talented and smart. I always hated the idea that Batman's number one villain is some guy who had bad luck, yet he's able to elude a master detective.

If you haven't gotten a chance to check it out I highly recommend it, its one of my favorites, along with Identity Crisis and Green Arrow Year One

  16. That's actually one comic I haven't read yet. I'll definitely have to go and find that one.

Personally, I hope they never reveal a definitive origin for Joker, I think he works better without a set past or real name. I actually think that it's awesome that Joker has been around for like 70 years and that his real name has never been revealed!

  17. I agree, I like that he has multiple origins and nothing is definitive, and it works for him. I wonder what their gonna do with Joker now that Dick's B-Man, considering Joker would definitely know thats not his archenemy.

  18. That's what I like about the current issues of Batman. Two-Face knew right away that Dick wasn't "his" Batman. You'd have to think most of Batman's rogues gallery would pick up on that fact right away. Let's face it, Dick doesn't act or fight anything like Bruce does. Dick's eventual meeting with Joker should be(if written correctly)really special.

  19. I also love that, and considering Two-Face is pretty much Dick's Joker I guess you could say, Im happy he's given the main role. I mean the guy beat Dick to death almost as a kid, so he's the viable choice. I am looking forward to his run in with Joker though, as well as his eventual run in with Catwoman.

  20. Yeah, Peter Tomasi really did a great job establishing that Two Face was Dick's main nemesis during the final couple of issues of the Nightwing series.

I hadn't even thought about the Catwoman/Dick meeting... $20 says Dick winds up sleeping with her within 3 issues of meeting her!

  21. Lmao...You're on sir, cause Im betting by then he's already back with Babs or Starfire.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Don't worry, even if he's back with Babs(yay)or Starfire(boo!)I'm sure he'll be conveniently broken up with them by the time Selina comes around.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Lol, whats your feelings on his relationship with Babs and Starfire, I sense you're biased towards one person and not too fond of a certain six foot, orange Tamaranian.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ugh, I don't known if you've ever read the New Teen Titans series that ran from the early/mid 1980's to the mid 1990's(I managed to snag the full run off of eBay), but Starfire really annoyed the hell out of me in those comics... There was this whole awful storyline about her being forced into an arrainged marriage back on her home planet, which totally messed Dick up. The story was terrible, and since then Starfire has always managed to bug me. IMO, Dick is really meant to be with Babs, they're perfect for each other.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Nah, I didn't know that. I could see how that'd ruin their relationship. I do agree though, Dick and Babs are perfect for one another, and it was never more prevalent than in Nightwing annual 2, I'm hoping something big happens in BN:Batman 3 where Dick saves her life and realizes that he really wants to be with Babs for good, because it hasn't really been touched on since annual 2.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Sadly I don't think they'll ever end up together... Dick takes after Bruce too much in that way, I don't know that he'd ever be fully comfortable putting Babs(or any woman)in some sort of risk because of his lifestyle.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hm, you could be right, but at the same time I think Dick is smart enough to see what Bruce does and try to stray away from that path. Thats the thing though, because Barbara is always in danger anyway it seems like. I was sure Bruce was gonna finally settle with Selina until Hush had to come and steal her heart from him. (I'm aware of my bad pun, yet I shall embrace it anyway, lol.)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Best pun EVER!!! Anyway, I'm not so sure Dick has learned from Bruce's mistakes, it seems whenever the going gets tough in his life he begins to put up that Bruce Wayne-like wall. For all of their differences, they are actually quite alike.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Lol, thanks on the pun. I figured you'd read Heart of Hush but If not I didn't wanna ruin it. You're right in the sense that Dick does have his Wayne-Wall as it were but I'd think with all the deaths around him lately he's realize he may as well spend his life with someone he cares about, Like Babs. But eh, you may be right, I just wish they'd stop dancing around it.
