Impulse #66(Nov. 2000)

See, now THIS is how a hero's arch-enemy should act!

  1. Inertia is so awesome, I wish he wasn't currently pushing up daisies. Oh well, hopeful Black Lantern. I wonder if he'd go after the Rogues or Bart first.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I'm still holding out hope that with a new Kid Flash series on the horizon Inertia will come back as Kid Zoom. They could always say he was in the Speed Force or something like that, that's where dead speedsters end up anyway, right? Have Prof. Zoom bring Inertia out of the Speed Force, they are related in some weird way. If Inertia comes back as a Black Lantern though, I don't know that he'll be resurrected down the road.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Good point, I can't see them bringing him back twice, and if so not without a big gap in between. I mean, he is a clone right? What's to stop him from being re-cloned? I'd go for it as long as they bring him back, and I didn't know Bart was getting another series, any idea when its slated for?

    ReplyDelete
  4. I have to say I'm not completely sure... I know there is a series in the works and that it was announced during one of those big comic cons during the summer, but I'm not sure about the date.

I guess re-cloning a clone is the easiest way to go, but then the re-cloned clone(THAT'S a mouthful!)probably won't have the memories of the original. I'm still hoping Prof. Zoom rescues Inertia from the Speed Force and takes him under his wing as Kid Zoom. That way you'll have Prof. Zoom battling Barry Allen and Kid Zoom battling Bart Allen. That sounds good to me!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hm, I'll be on the look out for it then, especially now that you converted me to a Bart Allen fan.

Hm, not the best example but Match is a re-cloned clone and I believe he retains some of Superboy's memories, even though he's kinda insane.

I could go for that though, The big tagteam battle of Professor Zoom and Kid Zoom vs. Flash and Kid Flash. I'd definitely read that.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yeah, that's right, Match is a re-cloned clone, but he doesn't have any of SB's memories(though I could be wrong). As a matter of fact, when Match was originally created, he was wasn't the half-wit you've read about in the Titans East storyline.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I actually looked him up and saw how different he looked at the beginning of his appearances, so maybe Re-cloning Inertia isn't the way to go. But I do know in The Titans East Arc Match was inlove with Cassie, that's the only reason I thought he had Conner's memory.

    ReplyDelete
  8. The only thing I can think to figure Match's infatuation with Cassie is that since he wanted to be SB, he figured he should have SB's girlfriend. Either that or Slade told Match to act like that... Slade being a master of psychology would know just what buttons to push to mess with Cassie's head the most.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ah so Slade was the evil mastermind, of course. I didn't know he told Match to do that. Slade put together a really good team to fight the Teen Titans, if the Titans hadn't shown up Slade would've definitely won.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I'm pretty sure I remember Slade telling Match to dress in Superboy's costume in order to give the Teen Titans the maximum ammount of psychological damage. Now THAT is really thinking through a plan!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Hm, I may have to re-read that, I think i missed it. Slade is genius, basically as far as I'm concerned he's the evil Batman, he's always ten steps ahead and if he were to ever team up with Hush no one in the world could stop them.

    ReplyDelete
  12. If not in the Titans East story itself, check out the issues leading up to the Titans East story, where Slade begins to put his team together.

A Hush-Slade team-up is one of my dreams. And you're right, they'd be TOTALLY unstoppable. Hell, throw Lex Luthor in there too, that would be an awesome trio.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Will do, I'll check it out, i borrowed a buncha Teen Titans from my pal, he's big into the Titans after watching the show, Started with issue one yesterday I'm up to like 23, the fight with Dr. Light after Identity Crisis.

Those three would rule the world, I honestly can't think of how they'd be stopped unless it was Lex double crossing them or something, I don't believe the JLA or anyone could beat those three because their so ahead of the game.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ha, you know Lex would HAVE to double cross them too! There's no way he'd be able to share the spotlight with anybody else.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yeah thats the only reason I could see it falling apart, because Deathstroke and Hush would probably get along pretty well, if Hush was paying him of course.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yeah, DS would def have to be getting paid. But then again, working with Lex and Hush, I'm sure they'd have plenty of money to throw around.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Good point, and I can't see Lex screwing over someone he paid, for some reason I don't see Lex being THAT careless with his own Lexcorp money.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yeah, Lex probably wouldn't screw over Slade, that would be a dumb move on several different levels. Maybe he'd try to pull a power play on Hush though. Having two criminal masterminds on the same team is like asking for trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yeah, if anyone EVER Screws Slade that's asking fro trouble, then again Hush would probably expect a power play from Lex. I don't even know how anyone would write that because those guys should never have any sort of weaknesses.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yeah, that would be a tough storyline to write, how do you put both Hush and Lex on a team but keep the both of them looking strong?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm sure Geoff would find a way. Then again since Slade turned over his new leaf after his Near Death experience with Geo-Force he said he was gonna kill whoever he wanted whenever, so I don't know if he'd still work with Lex and Hush even if they paid.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I guess it would depend on exactly what Hush and Lex were up to. If they were planning on doing something that Slade found benificial to himself, then maybe he'd join the other two villains, who knows, maybe he'd even work for free.

"I'm sure Geoff would find a way." Totally agreed!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hm, if you had to gather a team of no more than 5 heroes to take on Lex,Slade and Hush, who would you assemble and why?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hmm, interesting. Let's see, there'd have to be Bruce and Supes(for obvious reasons), I'd also take Grayson(he's fought Slade the most), Ollie('cause he's one of the few men alive who can get Slade off his game), and Hal(for the added firepower). As awesome as the trio of Lex, Hush and Slade are, they'd be hard-pressed to defeat that group!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thats a great team, I'd probably pick the same but with Wally instead of Hal but I feel like your team is better rounded. I'm sure Lex would put out a call to Sinestro though if Hal was involved.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hey, adding Sinestro to the mix would only making things even better! Lex, Hush, Sinestro and Slade? The only thing that could stop them would be all of their massive egos!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm trying to think if there's someone else who we could add to the villains that would be a good asset and not a weak link either. Maybe Black Adam.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well, we've got a villain for each hero except for Ollie, so it makes sense to get one of his rogues. The only problem with that is the fact that Ollie really doesn't have any reoccuring enemies. I guess there's Merlyn, but he'd sure be a step down from the rest of the villains on that team. How about Zoom? Especially if we add Wally to the hero side.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hm...Yeah Ollie is kinda lopsided, I did like Onomonopeia in his appaearances in Batman/Green Arrow's stories. I think Zoom would be a good way to go, hell I'd be happy with Inertia for Bart but he's too much of a wild card, whereas Zoom would fit perfectly. Good pick X.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Then again, the more I think about Zoom, I'm not sure he'd join... He has a really strange moral system, he only commits his crimes in an effort to make the characters he fights into better heroes. I know he absolutely hates Flash's rogues, but he did work with Lex and co. during Infinite Crisis, so who knows with Zoom.

Onomonopeia is one character that I wish would show up more, he was awesome in his few appearances, but I think he'd be WAY too unpredictable for Lex and Hush to put up with.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Zoom is kinda like Sinestro in the sense that he only wants to better his enemies right? Well of course Zoom does wanna be the one to Kill a Flash too i believe.

I loved Onomonopeia, I don't remember if you read Cacaophony or not but what he did at the end was so unexpected and genius, I feel like he'd be a good fit but like you said he is very unpredictable. I would like a Hush/Onomonpeia team up to take on Bruce and Ollie though.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't think Zoom ever really wanted to kill Wally off. Zoom(Hunter Zolomon, not Prof. Zoom)was a former friend of Wally who was crippled by a super-villain(?). Hunter asked Wally to use the cosmic treadmill to go back in time and change his misfortune, but Wally wouldn't, because he didn't want to mess with the past(or something like that). Hunter got pissed, snuck into the Flash museum and tried to use the treadmill himself, but was caught in some sort of chrono-powered explosion, which is how he became Zoom(and crazy). From that point on, Zoom wanted to "help" Wally become a better hero by forcing him to undergo tragic events. Zoom figured that Wally needed to face terrible tragedy in order to become the type of hero the world needed. To that end, Zoom wound up causing Wally's wife, Linda, to miscarry Wally's unborn children, reasoning that Wally would become a "proper" hero if he suffered enough. Yeah, as you can probably tell, I'm a big fan of Zoom!

Yep, I did read Cacaophony(not that long ago as a matter of fact)and I def enjoyed it. I'd figure a villain like Lex, whose plans are meticulously planned out wouldn't want a wild card like Ono involved.

I love the idea of a Hush/Ono-Bats/Ollie mini-series! I'd buy that in a heart beat!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ah, thats awesome, thanks for the Zoom info, I always love those villains like Lex who believe they're in the right and are doing good. Hm...Now I really wanna read some Zoom stuff.

I love Cacaophony so much, especially the conversation at the end after Bruce saved Joker, that was one of the best conversations between the two in my opinion, it embodied everything, the fact Bruce STILL wanted to help Joker after everything he's done to Jason, Gordon and Barbara and when Joker just shot him down it was amazing.

I'd also buy that, i love the dynamic with Bruce and Ollie because their so similar yet so very different, I wish they had more interacting stories.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Just last night I read Batman/Green Arrow: Poison Tomorrow, which was a graphic novel starring Ollie and Bruce where they battled Poison Ivy. It was OK, but nothing really spectacular(I'll probably give it a quick review next week at the other blog).

If you're looking for some good Flash/Zoom stuff, you should def read the Rogue's War storyline. I could go find out which issues of Flash it took place in, but I remember really liking that story(plus it was written by Geoff Johns, so you know it should be good!).

Ha, I remember reading that conversation in Cacaophony and just shaking my head at Bruce... He'll never learn will he? I guess that makes perfect sense though, somewhere in Bruce's mind he obviously still believes Joker can be reformed. The sad thing about that is, if he really believes that he's crazier than the Joker! I remember laughing when Joker didn't want to talk to Bruce while he was in disguise, only as Batman.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Dude I have that but never read it because I hated the art work, but if your review hypes it enough I'm pretty sure I'll end up checking it out.

Anything with Flash/Zoom/ and Geoff has gotta be awesome, so when you get a chance I'd appreciate it if ya looked it up for me, I'll probably pick up the issues Tuesday when I go grab Smackdown.

Yeah I loved when Joker was like, put on your costume first. And when he ended the conversation saying he saw a lil bit of Bat's Junk I had to laugh out loud. But yeah Bruce still wanting to help Joker is crazy to me, but I guess thats what makes him a hero, no way I would've saved him when Ono shish-kabobed his heart.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yeah man, I gained SO much respect for Commish Gordon when he was like, "So just let him die.". I can totally respect that Gordon can't bring himself to actually kill Joker, Gordon's as clean a cop as you'll find, but I really liked the way he wouldn't lift a finger to help Joker. That's the thing that made that mini so good, that last act, where Bats was faced with the dilemma of either saving Joker or capturing Ono was beautifully done. I've got to say, I'd have let Joker died and caught Ono. I guess I'd be a pretty sucky hero!

I doubt I'll be swaying you on Poison Tommorow, I doubt I'd score it higher then a 6 1/2 or tops a 7.

I'll have those Flash issues for you by tomorrow night Jason.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yeah, that thing was greatly written, I gotta give Kevin Smith his props, I'm reading the Spiderman/Black Cat Arc he did and its pretty good as well. That dude can write some good stuff. I know Gordon had to be somewhat proud and disappointed with bats.

Hm..only a 6/7? I shall stay away from it then, till I get super bored.

Awesome, looking forward to it, Thanks X.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Kevin Smith does some awesome comic work. It's too bad his Hollywood work keeps him so busy, if he were to just concentrate on CB's he'd prob be one of the best.

"Hm..only a 6/7? I shall stay away from it then, till I get super bored." I'm the same way. If I read something I'm mildly interested in got bad reviews, I'll wait until I'm either really bored or I can find it super cheap before I buy it.

I'm still planning on finding those issues for you, I'm currently watching the Giants get spanked by the Saints, so when this massacre is finally over I'll dig 'em out.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I agree with that, Kevin is a great writer, I wish he wrote more stuff, I'm really liking his current arc Batman: The Widening Gyre. The first issue was wonderful in showing Bruce's relationship with Dick, plus anything I can read with Bruce as Bats is cool at the moment.

I just picked it up because it had Ollie and Bruce on the cover but I had so much other stuff at the moment I didn't check out the artwork. I'm such a stickler for good art it keeps me from getting into the story, that's probably why I hated The Dark Knight Returns.

Oh, take your time dude, the longer it takes ya the longer the money stays in my wallet.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm holding off on picking up Widening Gyre until it's finished. With all the comics I read in a month, I've always enjoyed reading mini's in one sitting(usually as a trade). If I can't wait to read something I'll make an exception(JL: Cry for Justice, Blackest Night, Captain America Reborn)but I usually try to hold off.

Those Flash issues are #220-225. I guess I should apologize to your wallet!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I know what you mean, I hate waiting month to month for stuff like that, especially when I'm very excited about the next issue.

Awesome, the comic fan in me thanks you. I'm also gonna pickup that Deadshot mini you reviewed last week.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'll be interested to hear what you thought of those books. Flash was written by Geoff Johns, so you know it's gonna be solid, and Deadshot was one of those strange pick-ups that I really ended up enjoying.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I actually picked them up today, I finished Rogue's Revenge which I loved, and I don't know who I like more now, Zoom's twisted self righteousness or Inertia's Jerk-like behavior. Great Recommendation X.

I also found out surprisingly today that Geoff Johns is from my hometown of Detroit, Michigan and for some reason that made me happy.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Zoom and Inertia make a really great team, they're both totally insane, but in two completely different ways.

Huh, I didn't know that. I'd be happy too if I knew the best writer in comics today was from my hometown!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yeah, do they team up any other times besides in Rogue's Revenge?

Also I thought he was like some grizzled comic veteran and the guy's only 36. Shocked the hell outta me.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Nope, as far as I know, that was the one and only time Zoom and Inertia teamed up, which sucks, 'cause it would make so much sense for them to work together often.

Wow, really? Damn, he must have started out at DC when he was only like 25 or so! He's like a comic book writing prodigy!

    ReplyDelete
  47. That does suck, seems like they'd at least have a comic where Wally was fighting Zoom at the same time Bart and Inertia fought, even if it wasn't a "team-up."

Yeah, dude is young, and very very talented, I assume you also thought he was pushing his mid-fifties as well.

    ReplyDelete
  48. If I had to place Geoff's age I'd say mid to late 40's. I know some of his first DC work was the Stars and Stripe series, and that was from around the late 90's(I think). If you do the math that means he had to be in his 20's when he did that and prob in his late 20's when he first started writing JSA... It's pretty unbelievable that he was that good from early on.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I can't believe he's like the flagship of who to go to when it comes to great storytelling for him to only be in his mid-thirties. If I recall didn't ge do the Origins and Omens for everyone too?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hmm, I'm not sure if Geoff did all the Origins and Omens, I think the writers from each series was responsible for those, but I could be wrong, it's been a few months since I read those. Imagine how awesome it would be if Geoff just keeps getting better with age!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Geoff is gonna be the best for a while I think, I can't even imagine him getting better. Has he ever tackled anything like Batman? I don't recall him ever doing a Batman arc.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Huh, I can't think of Geoff doing an issue of Batman. Ever. That's pretty weird. Maybe I'm forgetting/overlooking something. I wonder what his take on Bats would be.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I would like to see Geoff write an arc for Superman/Batman. I loved how he had Dick and Conner so similar in Infinite Crisis, so I'd love to see how he wrote Bats and his interactions with The Man Of Steel.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Geoff writes an awesome Lex Luthor, so if he did do an arc for Supes/Bats, Lex had better be the villain!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'd like another Lex/Joker team up, especially if Geoff wrote it. I know Jim Kelly did an issue that had Batman & Superman fighting Owlman and Ultra Man, also Deathstroke was there and so was Deadpool. Although he never said his name, he kept getting cut off after saying Dea.. but it was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yeah, you know me, anything Geoff writes makes me happy.

    ReplyDelete
  57. So is Geoff writing this new Flash series or is he just doing the first few issues then passing it to someone else? I hope he stays with it, I'm really enjoying his writing for Adventure Comics.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Honestly? I'm not sure. I know Geoff is leaving Adventure after issue #6(I think)which REALLY sucks, but what else is new I guess. That's becoming his MO, start a series, make every body love it and then pick up and go.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ahh lame! Well Prime better be gone with Geoff leaves because now I'm afraid for someone else to write him. Long as Yost doesn't get it, or BENDIS some how. (I noticed you capitalize his name.) I wish Meltzer would write a series though, especially if he revamped the Teen Titans or something.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Yeah, I'm hoping Prime just has a quick one-shot appearance next issue, because I just can't see another writer making Prime as awesome as Geoff does. Please, don't even jokingly talk about Yost taking over the Adventure series!

For some reason Marvel's hierarchy feels BENDIS is THE most important person in Marvel Comics, so to show his "importance", his name is always capitalized. I'll never understand exactly what the higer-ups at Marvel see in The Dread Lord BENDIS...

I wish Brad would just write ANY comic! It doesn't even have to be a regular series, even a one-shot would satisfy me!

    ReplyDelete
  61. So am I, I don't want anyone else to write for Prime, and I'm super hyped about the next issue featuring him. Lol alright I won't, I might end up jinxing us, ala Tim Drake.

Lol @ his name being capped, just for that I'll address him as bendis from now on. You get no respect from me bendis, NONE!!!

So Brad hasn't written any comics since Last Will and Testament?

    ReplyDelete
  62. HA! I like the idea of BENDIS getting no caps at all!

Nope, Brad's last comic was Last Will... I really wish he'd put something out. Anything!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Yeah I haven't read anything by bendis I believe, If I have I really don't remember so that can't be good, but from what you've said he doesn't deserve for me to hit "shift" when I type his name.

I wish Brad would write something, outside of Identity Crisis and Last Will he hasn't written anything? I guess he's busy writing for shows, but both he and Kevin Smith need to write more comics.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Believe it or not, there was a time when I was a big fan of BENDIS. Then he pretty much destroyed the Avengers tradition, so that was about the end of my being a fan of his!

Brad did the first 13(ish)issues of the current JLA series, and they were natuarally great. Besides that, I can't think of anything. Yeah, if those two guys decided to only write comics, that would be really great.

    ReplyDelete
  65. What'd he do to destroy the avengers tradition?

Hm...I'll be getting those come Wednesday, or tomorrow if I'm really bored and feel like going to the comic book store. So was it all down hill after that?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Where do I even begin!!! He had the Scarlet Witch inexplicably go insane and turn on the team, killing Vision and Hawkeye in the process, then he disassembled the team, then he reassembled the team with a roster of characters that had either never been, or never should have been Avengers(is it really necessary for Wolverine to be on the Avengers? Isn't he on enough X-teams?), then he kept pitting the Avengers against non-Avengers foes. The Silver Samarai??? The Hood??? Fricking Electro!?! Where's Kang or Loki, hell, I'd even settle for Gravitron! The Avengers comics written by BENDIS are only Avengers comics in name and nothing else. There is NOTHING about those comics that has anything to do with the classic Avengers.

Yeah, Dwayne McDuffie took over for Brad, but he just never seemed to find his groove on the series. Dwayne had like one good storyline, and then things just really fell apart.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Wow, that sounds awful, just...awful. And why does EVERYONE want Wolverine in EVERYTHING? I'll never understand that.

I remember reading The Injustice League, I believe McDuffie wrote that, it was alright. I'm really looking forward to this new league. Any Idea who's writing it? (If ya told me before I forgot, my bad.)

    ReplyDelete
  68. I always say the same thing about Wolvie. I like him and all, but is it necessary for him to have like 3 or 4 solo books and 5 or 6 team books?!?

Yeah the Injustice League storyline was the one good storyline Dwayne wrote! After that, he just didn't seem like he knew what to do(but that could be more the fault of Final Crisis then him). FC and New Krypton took a lot of good characters off the JLA. James Robinson is writing the JLA series now, and as you may or may not know, I'm a HUGE fan of his, so I have big expectations for that series.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Ironically I JUST read an interview with Geoff Johns, he's writing for this show Titan Maximum on Adult Swim produced by Seth Green. He actually said he's a big fan of bendis. I was so conflicted, lol if you wanna read it the link is below.

    http://www.adultswim.com/shows/titanmaximum/extras/interview/geoff-johns-titan-maximum-interview.html

Turns out I had read those JLA issues by Brad in a Tornado's Path tpb. And yeah I liked Injustice League but I didn't read anything after that so I pretty much missed Dwayne's run with JLA. I have heard good things from James Robinson from people besides you so I'm also looking forward to that, plus the new JLA team looks very interesting with four former Titans.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Please be joking Geoff!!! Then again, maybe as a DC writer he likes how BENDIS is slowly destroying the Marvel Universe.

Trust me, you didn't miss out on much by missing Dwayne's JLA run!

At least I'm not the only one saying James is an awesome writer. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, his work on Starman is some of the best comic book storytelling I've ever read.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Lol AND I looked through my books today, Turns out I have Avengers Disassembled tpb, which of course is by Bendis. If I wasn't trading it with a few other I might've read it.

That's weird Dwayne couldn't handle the JLA, he was a writer on the shows (JLA/JLU) and those were always good.

What would you say...if I told you I've never read his Starman issues. Only Starman I know is the one currently in the JSA.

    ReplyDelete
  72. You know, I was a fan of BENDIS during Disassembled. It was right after that storyline that I really started to sour on him and his writing. I don't care what anybody says, BENDIS' dialogue is about as bad as it gets.

I'd say find the first TPB and give Starman a shot as soon as possible!!! Seriously though, Starman is probably my favorite comic book series, like ever. I've read well over 10,000 comics and hundreds of trades, and I'd easily put Starman right at the top of any best comic series list I've made. Obviously that's not to say you'll like the series, but most everybody who's ever read Starman usually becomes a huge fan. When I read a comic book the two most important things are characterization and dialogue. James Robinson managed to make every character deep and well-developed and the dialogue(especially the Shade's)is perfectly done. Just thinking about this series is making me want to read it again!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Almost makes me wish I read it, but oh well, I'm trading that, Batman Thrillkiller and that God-awful Hush returns for World without Grown Ups, Robin A Hero Reborn, Spider-Man vs. Venom and Superman/Batman Generations book one.

It sounds awesome, plus you haven't steered me wrong yet so I'm definitely gonna look into it, sounds very interesting. What are Starman's powers and backstory?

    ReplyDelete
  74. I loved World Without Adults(but you know how I feel about anything Young Justice related)I haven't read the Robin storyline yet, and I;m sure I must have owned the Spidey vs. Venom comic, but gave it to my brother.

Starman actually doesn't have any powers, he has a super-powerful staff(it's actually the same one Stargirl of the JSA currently uses). Hmm, what can I say about a backstory without ruining too much... The Starman in the series is the son of the original Starman(Ted Knight)who worked on the JSA back in the 1940's-1950's. He has a lousy relationship with his dad and brother, and is pretty resentful of the entire super-hero concept. If not for a sense of duty, he never would have taken up the Starman mantle. The series really documents Starman's growth as a hero, as well as giving us massive ammounts of information on several supporting characters, as well as Opal City, where the series is set. By the end of the series, I had such a bond with several of the characters that when one major character died, I was pretty heart-broken. The writing is that powerful.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Yeah I had to get that being a YJ fan, I haven't read that Robin either so I'm hoping its good, same thing with Generations. And I'm a big fan of both Spidey and Venom so I'll love that.

Sounds awesome. I'm gonna see if I can find a bunch issues via eBay or something because it sounds like something I can sink my teeth into.

Ah whats the deal with this Starman who's currently in the league who's super forgetful?

    ReplyDelete
  76. That Starman is from the future(the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 31st century). He was sent back to help bring Superboy back to life when the time was right(I think...). He has some kind of mental disease(I forget which one)which is under control with 31st century drugs, but unfortunately for him, those drugs haven't been created in the 21st century yet, which is why he acts crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Ahhhhh. That explains SO much. THAT's why he dug up Connor in Legion of The Worlds, I was kinda confused. Lol I actually like his character though.

  78. I just don't get why he's still hanging around the 21st century if his job was to bring SB back to life. Mission accomplished and all that jazz, right? I've got to say, I've never really been a big fan of this Starman, he tends to get on my nerves a lot. I don't hate him or anything, I'm just annoyed by him.

  79. Lol probably because he's not your original Starman you like. I agree though, why the hell is he still in the past? Kinda makes no sense.
