Young Justice: The Secret #1(June 1998)

Young Justice, the best team ever? I'm not sure about that, but they were definitely the best team of teenage heroes ever assembled.

  1. Lol, not the Mom!!! That's awesome, thats good light-hearted writing. Where have all the good teen hero teams gone?

  2. Dude, not that long ago I think I pretty much dedicated an entire post to that subject. Sometimes it's nice to read a nice, light-hearted comic book.

Good question. There's Teen Titans(which should start getting better soon)and... I really can't think of anything from Marvel. For a company that made it's name from teenage super-heroes, it's weird/sad that they don't have one big-name teen team title.

  3. I heard that Tiny Titans was kinda in the vein of being a light-hearted comic but it's more suited for like kids then teens/young adults or whatever like Young Justice was.

Why do you think Titans is gonna get better soon? Ya know something I don't? New writer/members?

  4. Tiny Titans seems too young to me. It seems like something you'd get for your 7 year old brother, you know?

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that Kid Flash and/or Superboy will return to the pages of Teen Titans sometime in the near future.

  5. Yeah that's what I figured as well. Tiny Titans is for the youngsters.

I would hope SB rejoins because he's joined in Adventure Comics I believe, so that'd be awesome. I hope Kid Flash rejoins too but for some reason I doubt it.

  6. I don't know, I really can't think of a reason for Bart not to join. Even with his upcoming series, there's no reason he can't show up in both comics. Hell, I know I'd be really happy with a double dose of Bart every month.

  7. I'm with you dude, the more Bart the better. I'm fine with him popping up in the Teen Titans. Plus I can see him and Static getting along like Cy and Beast Boy, minus the gay vibe you said they had in one of your reviews lol.

  8. Yeah, I can easily see Static and Bart hanging out. Personality-wise, they're a good fit.

I'm sorry, but Cyborg and Beast Boy are just plain weird together! ;)

  9. I'd like to see an issue that just focused on Static and Bart, I think it'd be funny, maybe more so is Bart was still Impulse but it'd be interesting.

I agree, I get that their friends but some times their convos are just plain odd...

  10. That's the kind of issue that would really help establish exactly who Static is. Since he's joined the team he's just sort of been there, not really doing or saying much. The same thing holds true for Aquagirl. I don't know if she's said 3 lines since joining the Titans!

  11. Yeah, It would get back to his more joking nature he had on the show. I agree he's kinda just around sometimes. So I agree that'd let his personality shine through. I'd laugh if during a Kid Flash/Static Issue Static had a thought bubble with pictures. Just for Impulse fans to laugh at.

  12. I still wish Bart would go back to the picture thought bubbles!

  13. I do too, it'd somewhat clash with his character since he's growing up but I don't care.

What i wanna know is will he still be with that chick he was talking to during his series or now that he's a teen again am I supposed to forget it happened?

  14. Yeah, picture thought bubble's are def gone for good when it comes to Bart. Once Geoff made him more mature during the early issues of the Teen Titans, that was the end of that. I wouldn't mind it if one of Wally's kids or another Allen from the future came around and did it though.

I think the entire Fastest Man Alive series officially falls under the, "It NEVER happened" catagory now. I'd bet DC totally shies away from mentioning anything that happened in that series.

  15. I thought I would dislike the whole Bart being mature thing but It REALLY works for his character, plus the fact he knows so much stuff after reading the library is just plain cool.

That sucks, so outside of his death they just want me to pretend Bart never did any of the awesome stuff he did in that series?

  16. I'm really torn about the whole thing with Bart's maturity. On one hand, I really do miss Impulse, but on the other hand, there's a lot more that can be done with Kid Flash then with Impulse. Impulse is more of a punchline, while Kid Flash is a more complete character. Still, I do miss Impy...

I wouldn't be surprised if they disregard his death as well. It'll probably be brought up quickly in the new Kid Flash series, and then never again.

  17. I wish there was another Impy like character around. I didn't read his whole series like you but from the little I did read I became attatched to his goofy persona but I think in the long run Kid Flash is the right move.

Booo, I hope not. Well they did mention it in BN Titans, but briefly. I just want them to bring his love interest back.

  18. Yeah, as much as I liked Impulse, the Kid Flash character just has more room to grow.

I doubt they would bring back the woman from the Fastest Man series as a love interest for Bart, she's too old for him now! In the Titans Tomorrow storyline I think Bart was dating Ravager. Now THAT'S a relationship I wouldn't mind seeing happen now!

  19. Yeah I remember that. I could see those two getting together, Well actually I can't but I'd love to see how that would progress. Their such polar opposites.

  20. Yeah, I think the fact that Rose and Bart are SO opposite would make their relationship really interesting. Plus a realationship between those two characters would have a lot of ramifications on Bart's longtime teammates as well(Cassie, SB and possibly even Jinx). We know Cassie flat out hates Rose, I doubt she'd be all too happy about Bart, someone she considers a younger brother, dating someone she seems to hate.

  21. Hm...good point that'd make it even better. I seem to remember from Young Justice Bart had a crush on Cassie. Well in that Sins of The Youth arc he was googly eyes for her. I'd love to see a double date with Bart/Rose and Connor/Cassie that ends of course with them fighting crime, just to see the tension with Rose and Cassie.

  22. I've always felt that instead of Bombshell, it should be Rose in the advesarial role on the Teen Titans. Rose was so good at pissing all of her teammates off on a regular basis!

  23. I love Rose's character and I agree but Bombshell is growing on me. I can see her and Rose becoming friends too for some reason.

The Titans REALLY need Rose back, her co-feature isn't cutting it and I'd like to have her in the spotlight, preferably as a Teen Titans Mainstay. Plus I could see her getting along with Static due to having respect for him when he beat her in the Dark Side Club.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Eh, Bombshell just seems like Ravager-lite to me. I'd rather have the real deal then some wannabe.

I totally forgot about the Static-Ravager/Darkside Club connection. It would def be interesting to see how Rose would respond to him. Either she'd respect him, or she'd try to fight him to prove to herself that she can beat him.

  25. I don't know, there's something about her stand-offish attitude that draws me in, but I can see what ya mean about her being Ravager-lite.

I recall in the issue where she left the Titans she said she respected Static and Aquagirl because they put up great fights at the Darkside Club, but I could see her always wanting a rematch. She's kinda like Bruce in the sense of always wanting to better herself.
