Flash: The Fastest Man Alive #3(Oct. 2006)

And we end Bart Allen week with a scan of him as the character he should be today, the lone Flash...

  1. Damn Bart looks skinny as hell in that scan... He looks like Skeletor.

  2. Bart was actually drawn really skinny throughout most of the first storyarc of this series! There's one scene when he's in the gym, and even I thought, "Damn does Bart look thin!"

  3. Lol I guess I blocked that out. I need to re-read these issues. Man I loved his friend turned villain, that dude was awesome.

  4. You know, having Bart as the only Flash would really set him up to become a stand out character. I think one strength of the FMA series was that he did have to learn a lot on his own.

  5. Yeah, I was flipping through those comics looking for a scan and I've got to say JT, it really made me want to reread this series. If I did, I could then post on my Flashback Friday post...

Yeah Kello, Jay was still around, but I kind of overlook him since he really doesn't dress like the other Flashes(Flashs? Flash's?)do. I still think that if DC had given this series some time it could have taken off. There's SO much about Bart's aging that never really made sense, the main thing being the fact that it was Geoff Johns who did it, when I think we can all safely assume that he's always had an eye towards bringing Saint Barry back to life somewhere down the road... It just seems... interesting to me that he would move Wally away and put Bart in Wally's spot in such a way that most of Wally's fans would naturally balk at the move... Plus the fact that Geoff didn't write the Fastest Man Alive book is also kind of strange, since it did spin out of Infinite Crisis, and he did do the Booster Gold book. It's almost like DC was setting FMA to fail before it even began.

  6. Bart is such a great guy. Just from reading this scan he seems so genuine and what not.

  7. Aren't the Flashes meant to be sortof skinny, as their running power comes from the Speed Force and not their muscles? Just as Superman really shouldn't be THAT muscular...

  8. Yes, they're supposed to be rather slim and slender compared to most heroes. Even for a speedster, though, Bart's quite small compared to everyone else (1.57m/52kg, or 5'2''/115lbs for the Americans out there).

  9. Jeez, is Bart really still that small! Those seem like his Impulse stats!

Yeah, I know speedsters are thinner then the average hero, but still, if I was running around in tight spandex, I think I'd want to fill out my costume a bit!

  10. Lol gotta agree with X, I doubt I'd wanna wear tights if I was all skin and bones. And he can't be only 5'2", that's gotta be his Impulse stats right?

  11. Granted, he's likely grown some since being resurrected (especially since he's quite the glutton), but the only other stats I've seen for him are as the Flash (read: rapidaging) (1.8m/81kg, 5'11''/178lbs), so I'm sticking with those stats for teenaged Bart unless someone corrects me.

tbh I wouldn't know if that height/weight falls on the lower end of normal or underweight, but I don't think matters anyway, the Speed Force handwaves all those problems.

  12. Yeah, I dug out my two DC Encyclopedias and sure enough, those are the exact hts and wts for Bart. As for average hts, I guess it depends on how old Bart is... If he's 14, then his average ht should be 5'3", so I guess he'd be kind of close to the norm...

  13. Just for the record when i was 14 I was about 5'10''...but hey, that's why I'm not a speedster.

  14. Ha, you'd be TOWERING over Bart! I was always one of the tallest kids in my class as well, so yeah, Bart seems REALLY small to me!

  15. Yeah, Bart is that kid that's tiny and gets bullied then comes back and is like 6'7'' or something haha.

  16. Ha yeah, 6'7" and 270 lbs of pure muscle!

  17. Lol funny how that always works out, eh I guess the lesson is not to pick on people, especially the short and skinny :P
