Superboy #25(March 1996)

I think Superboy sums up this scene the best. "Uh... Um..." Indeed!

  1. Kon scored a Knockout ;) That's the day Superboy became Superman.

  2. Lmao. Boom Boom Room, classic. Just from two scans, I'm starting to like Knockout. lol She's quite the lady YET seductive. lol.

  3. HA!!! Keep the bad puns coming JT!

You know, it's funny, because Knockout actually reappeared not that long ago as a VERY different character from the one she was back in these SB comics. She comes back as the lover of Vandal Savage's daughter, Scandal in the Secret Six comics, and winds up getting killed off right before Final Crisis!

  4. Lol I will like when Arnold played Mr. Freeze in Batman And Robin. "Chill out Batman!"

I actually saw that when I looked her up on Wikipedia. I wonder why such the massive personality change. Has she been back due to Blackest Night yet?

  5. Ugh... Please don't make me remember those awful later Batman movies from the 90's! Man did those movies take a nosedive after the first one...

I haven't seen KO come back yet, although I haven't read the second part of the Secret Six/BN x-over. You'd think she'd def pop up there.

  6. I read that Tim Burton was gonna have Billy Dee Williams play Two-Face that's why he's Harvey Dent in the earlier movies. Also he signed Marlon Wayans of the Wayans Bros. to play Robin, then Chris O'Donnell was casted after Joel took over and apparently they had to pay Marlon for both movies even though he's not in either.

Hm, if you do plan on reading it, let me know if Knockout does pop up. Also the fact her nickname is KO, even if you just picked that is pretty clever.

  7. Wow dude, you are a bastion of Bat-movie trivia! I hadn't heard of either of those! In a way, I kind of like Marlon Wayans as Robin... I hated O'Donnell as Robin because a)he didn't look like how I'd envision a Robin(Tim, Dick OR Jason)and b)he didn't have the comedic ability that I feel a Robin should have(that's prob one of my biggest faults with Damian actually). So although Marlon doesn't fit the first criteria either, he'd have been WAY better with regards to the second.

Just so I do look really clever, I'm going to say that I deliberately chose that nickname for her!
    :-)

  8. I agree with you about Chris, he didn't like embody any of the Robins really and he wasn't funny. I think Marlon would've been funny but as sad as It is I think alot of people would've been upset about an African American Robin. As much as I wanna believe it wouldn't have been a big problem I think it would have been. You know how some people are.

But yeah I read those some where, also read they were planning a Superman/Batman movie and it would've took place when they were like 40 each, and Lois would've left Clark and Alfred and Robin would be dead. That just sounds awful to me.

Lol well you are ONE clever fella sir. ;-)

  9. Oh yeah, I'm sure you'd have a few people who'd be upset about an African American Robin, but I think if Marlon's portrayal was strong enough, the majority would have been able to overlook it. At least I'd like to think so.

Man, that movie sounds terrible! Hell, if you want to do something dumb like that, why not do one of those cop buddy movies like Lethal Weapon? Just go all out and make it some terrible comedy!

  10. I think you're right, Marlon is a good actor, I've seen him play some serious roles so I think he may have been good enough to play Robin. Which incarnation? I have NO Idea.

Right? Even worse I read that Kevin Smith wrote a Superman script back in 1997 and the director wanted Supes to wear the Black/Gray suit because he felt the Red ad Blue was quote "Too Faggy." Also he didn't want Supes to fly because he'd look like a big dumb boyscout so they had to make Sonic booms everytime he took off and fly in a blur. And Lastly, he wanted Supes to fight a giant Spider at the end of the movie. Kevin Smith quit, and the director ended up using the giant spider idea in the Wild Wild West movie with Will Smith.

  11. I think I'd have Marlon play the Dick Grayson Robin, since his background is more in comedy, and Dick was the most lighthearted of the Robins. I doubt many people would have known who Jason was, and Tim was still making a name for himself back when that movie came out, so I'd have gone with Grayson.

"Too Faggy"?!? Red and Blue?!? REALLY!?! Ugh... Umm, did this guy ever actually, oh I don't know, READ a Superman comic? And a giant Spider? Wha?!?!?!?

  12. Good point, I think you're right, considering alot of people STILL don't know who Todd is. That reminded me, I can't wait for that Red Hood animated movie.

Right?! I was in shock when I read that. Why would Superman fight a giant spider? Dude you have Lex, Doomsday, Brainiac, Darkseid, Parasite, Metallo and SO much more and you want a big spider?!

  13. Well, by now you know how I am when it comes to watching new movies... I'm sure you'll watch it, and I wouldn't be surprised if my sister watches it, so if both you guys give it high marks, I'll have to TRY to find the time to watch it... Although I STILL haven't watched that Smallville episode yet, and I really want to see that!

Obviously that's just a case of the director being a complete jackass. If ya don't like Superman and his villains, then here's a hint, DON"T DIRECT THE MOVIE!!!

  14. Yeah, I'll let you know if it's awesome on not, And that upcoming Justice League Crisis on Two Earths movie as well. Hm...I just looked up Red Hood and it looks like It will have Jason Todd in it, as well as Batman, Nightwing, Joker, and Ras Al Ghul. And yeah, I'm sure you'll get to that Smallville by...next year. :P

Yeah he clearly just wanted the check. I mean that makes no sense, you clearly know nothing about Superman if you want him not flying and not wearing Red & Blue.

  15. See, this is why I need a few extra hours in the day! Look at all of this good stuff I'm missing out on! THe characters in that Red Hood movie have it looking pretty solid though.

  16. Yeah it looks pretty fly. Apparently it's the first DC Animated thing since Batman The Animated Series and Neil Patrick Harris aka Doogie Hauser is voicing him lol, but he should be sweet. Sadly Batman won't be good ol Kevin Conroy.

  17. Wait, you're not saying Doogie Hauser is voicing Batman, are you??? Because that has BAD written all over it!

  19. Lmao nah, he's voicing Nightwing. This dude named Jensen Ackles who was on a season of Smallville is voicing Red Hood and I'd assume that's Jason. And Bruce Greenwood whoever the blue hell that is, will be voicing our Caped Crusader.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Whew... That's better...

See, I'm OK with Harris voicing Dick because the guy is a comedian. That's what the problem with the Batman and Robin movie was. To be Dick Grayson, you def need comedic timing and stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I definitely agree. I think he'll be good as Nightwing, and Jensen should be good as Jason. I don't know about that dude playing Batman but I do know John Dimmagio who voiced Bender on Futurama if you've ever seen that, is playing the Joker.

Now that I think of it, since Ra's is in it that pretty much confirms that Red Hood is Jason Todd. I'm actually excited for this.
