Faces of Evil: Deathstroke #1(March 2009)

Thanksgiving dinner must be a lot of fun at the Wilson household... And with that, Deathstroke week comes to an end. Next week I'll be spotlighting a Marvel character and for a change, I actually know who I'm choosing all ready! Since I just finished Deathstroke week, it only makes sense that I dedicate the next week to every body's favorite Merc with a Mouth, that's right, get ready for Deadpool week!!!

  1. Hm...now I WONDER who gave you the idea for Deadpool week? Must be a smart guy, pretty sure you can find the answer at JasonToddscomicspot.blogspot.com, thats JasonToddscomicspot.blogspot.com!

Ha, but nah really I love Rose and Slade's feud, their one of my favorites to see interact. I'd really love for Rose to join the Titans again. Kid Flash, SB, Tim Drake, Cassie, Static, Miss Martian, Aquagirl and Ravager. And Bombshell just because she and Rose hate each other.

  2. What about Raven, BB et the other not gonna be in Deathstroke's Titans?

  3. Lol. I love seeing Rose and Slade go at it. You almost think they aren't related at all. Nice pick.

And I don't know if I should be upset that Slade beats up women or not. lol. I guess that ideology goes out the window when it comes to comics. Some of these women do pack a powerful punch. *wonder woman :D*

  4. What was that site again, JT? :-) I kind of forgot about Slade's Titans team... I guess Rose will prob end up there before she rejoins the Teen Titans, especially since her wannabe(Bombshell)is all ready there.

    ReplyDelete
  5. She could join, but she didn't join Slade and Jericho at the end of their BN thing so I don't see her joining them but maybe. And that site again is JasonToddscomicspot.blospot.com ;)

  6. I'm thinking that she may go after her mother(?)in the Titans series, which will eventually bring her back in touch with Slade and Joey, and whoever else they wind up recruiting.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Hm I could see that, but I could also see them having her do that in her co-feature as well. Only time will tell though, I do think SB and Kid Flash should rejoin the Teen Titans asap though.

  8. "I do think SB and Kid Flash should rejoin the Teen Titans asap though." If it were physically possible, I'd agree with that 1,000%!

BTW, do you still read that Ravager back-up story? I lost interest in it like 4 issues back, and now I simply scan through the pics instead of read it.

  9. I've never read it to be honest. I picked up the Teen Titan Comics right after Kid Devil bit the dust and I've never read her co-feature. I don't know why but I just can't get into it, which is weird because she's one of my favorite female characters. I think she's better when she's playing off someone though, so I'd rather they add her back to the Titans or put her in a group.

Okay, four person group, one of the people is Rose. Who do you make as the other three members and why, and what role does Rose play? Leader? Second in command? Enforcer or the youngster of the group?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yeah, to be honest, with the exception of the Manhunter Second Feature in Streets of Gotham, I don't think I read ANY of those back up stories... I wish DC would either scrap the idea or add extra pages to the main stories.

Hmm, how about Deathstroke, Jericho, Ravager and Arsenal? I REALLY like that team actually. I'd make Rose the tough to handle youngster of the group, constantly butting heads with Slade, the group leader. What about you?

  11. I like the idea of just adding the extra pages to the comics, hell they could always just publish one book like Wednesday comics and put all the co features in there, that way if you want you can read about Ravager, Manhunter, Blue Beetle and everyone else that has them.

Damn...that's a really good team. I'd say Nightwing (Grayson) as the leader, Rose as the protege, Static as the rookie and Donna as the big gun. That way you've got pretty much all the bases covered. Not as well as your team but I didn't wanna copy. :P

  12. Mmm, I REALLY like the idea of a monthly comic featuring those back-up stories. Unfortunately, I doubt that would happen, because who'd buy it, but still, that's better then wasting space in the comics their already in.

Not bad. I can deal with that team. Rose and Dick had a pretty good dynamic from the time he was training her for Slade, so I could see that.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yeah, I wouldn't buy it and I like Ravager. I could see them adding a main DC character every month with a story as well like Supes, Flash, GL and etc.

Well thank you. I love making these teams...any other ideas of teams we could make? We've done JLA's before haven't we?

  14. They actually used to do that back in the day in Action Comics. Action used to be all Supes, then in the 80's(I think)they switched it up and had all kinds of characters(usually b-listers)in various stories that would go on for like 8-12 issues. Some of the stories were OK, but sometimes you'd get a story about some awful heroes like the frigging Metal Men...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Whoops, I posted that too quickly... Umm, how about you put together a team of 5 led by Batman(so it would be Bruce and 5 others)to defeat Doomsday, back when he first appeared. Let's assume that there is no Superman(or any Kryptonians for that matter)so it's up to Bruce to figure out a way to take down Doomsday... GO!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Lol @ the Metal Men... I can't see why anyone would want to read about those guys.

Hm..no Kryptonians eh? Okay, well Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Captain Marvel and um... Lastly I'll take Green Lantern.

Got my speed, my brains, my intergalactic space cop, and my guns with WW & Cap. Your picks my friend?

    ReplyDelete
  17. "Lol @ the Metal Men... I can't see why anyone would want to read about those guys." EXACTLY!!! I can't imagine there are a whole bunch of people who are clamoring to read about the Metal Men... At least I hope not...

Hmm, very good picks... I don't think I could have chosen much better myself actually. Hell, thinking about things, all you'd probably need is Bats and WW... Huh, I really can't think of any reason to alter your line-up...

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hm...well, in that case, I want you to choose a team to take on Sinestro, Black Manta, Lex Luthor, The Joker and Bizarro. But the catch is you can't pick their enemies, meaning no Supes, no Batman, no GL, and no Aquaman.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Sheesh, that's kind of tough... I'm going to be stuck with a bunch of b-listers I guess... For Sinestro I'll pick Atrocitus. I bet you didn't see that one coming! Black Manta gets Saint Barry. I can't see Manta possibly hitting someone who moves as fast as the Sainted One. With Luthor, since I can't match his intellect, I'll just throw raw power at him and pit him against Wonder Woman. Ain't no Kryptonite gonna harm WW! Joker gets Mon-El... Do I really have to explain how THAT battle would turn out? :-) And finally I'd have the Martian Manhunter take out Bizarro. Between the shapeshifting and the telepathy, I think Manhunter would be MORE then a match for Bizarro. So, what do you think of my choices?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Just for the record, if you shoot Mon El won't he die? Since Bullets are lead and all? Anywho good picks sir, Especially Atrocitus, that came outta nowhere. Hm... I can't dispute them though, and Bizarro vs. Manhunter was good. You got any scenarios good sir?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Nope, especially not nowadays, since Mon-El was cured of his lead problem. However, if this was a few years back, I'm not sure... I kind of doubt the bullet would be able to puncture his skin, since it's Superman tough. I guess if the bullet was near him he'd get sick or something, but I just can't see it getting through his skin. That be a real pathetic way for a dude with Supes powers to die though...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Good point, but if you recall Supes has been shot with a Kryptonite bullet and it only went through his skin because he's weakened by it, so I'd assume a bullet would go through Mon El right? Also would the same thing go for the all powerful Sodam Yat?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hmm, see that's another thing though, I know Kryptonite actually weakens Supes, which is why it can cut/puncture him, but I think Daxamites are only allergic to lead. You know, it makes him extremely ill and stuff like that, I'm not sure if it robs him of his powers though... Huh, I guess I should try to polish up on my knowledge of Daximite physiology...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hm... I forgot about that, I guess you're right dude. In that case if you can beat the allergy you're pretty much invincible right? I wonder who'd win a fight between Mon and Supes.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'd love an Elseworlds type of battle where Supes and Mon-El just went at it to the death. I guess I'd have to go with Supes. Why? Well, because he's frigging Superman, that's why! :p Seriously though, the fact that Supes has defeated everyone from Wonder Woman, to Atlas, to Thor to the Hulk makes me believe that Supes would figure out a way to defeat Mon.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Good point and I give you that but could he defeat Sodam Yat? Think about it, he took Prime to the limit and he's got the power of Ion so if anyone can beat the Man of Steel it's gotta be him right? That's like fighting Mon-El & Hal in one.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You know, you do make good points(although Sodam IS still allergic to lead, only Mon-El is free from that affliction), but I just can't ever bet against Supes... The moment I read that JLA/Avengers x-over, and saw him take Thor in their AWESOME fight, I realized that Supes is prob capable to take anybody. You name the foe, and I'd take Supes every time.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Even if it was Superman vs. Batman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor AND Mon El would you still pick Supes. Or Just Superman vs. Superboy Prime?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ha, OK let me rephrase that... I'd take Supes vs anybody in a one-on-one fight! And yes, I'd pick Supes over Prime anyday.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Really? But didn't Prime clean his clock? If I recall it took both him and Earth 2 Supes just to depower him, as well as the Speedforce to capture him and that didn't even work. But I guess you're right, hell he beat Thor. So is there anyone else besides Supes that you'd ALWAYS pick?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yeah, it took two Supermen to take Prime, but didn't Prime have that sun-power collecting armor on that made him like some kind of amped up Superman? If the two were to battle on a deserted world somewhere to the death, I'd take Supes. He's older, smarter and more level-headed then Prime.

Well, I really can't pick somebody else, because what would I do if you pitted that person against Supes?!? My brain would LITERALLY explode trying to figure out a winner! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ah good point, I forgot about that suit. Lol i meant to say besides Superman, my ultimate pick would be Batman since he rarely EVER loses.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I gave A LOT of consideration to Bats, but I just can't see him being able to take somebody like Mon-El or WW in a one-on-one fight to the death... Granted, he can out think and out strategize anybody else, but he's still lacking in raw power, and against people who can punch holes in planets, that could be a real problem for him...

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hm.. touche. So after that WW/PG fight do you still think Supes could beat WW, and if so, wouldn't she just use her fighting skills like she did with PG?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Mmm, you see, that's a really good question. Even after what went down between PG and WW, I'd STILL pick Supes over WW! I kind of remember when Maxwell Lord was mind-controlling Supes he was pretty much more then holding his own against WW. If he was in his right mind, I'd have to think Supes triumphs over WW.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hm... now that's a fight I really want to see, just knockdown dragout fight. If it's like they have to fight or Lois dies and Hippolyta dies if she isn't dead again already. But of course they'd both get saved and we'd get a lame fight ending...

    ReplyDelete
  37. Like WW holding Supes in a headlock? :p

    ReplyDelete
  38. Lmao please don't bring that up. That WW Batman fight is Brutal, I've seen better match ups with the Nasty Boyz! Oh no he didn't! Oh yes he did! Lol

    ReplyDelete
  39. "I've seen better match ups with the Nasty Boyz!" Are you sure you're not overselling that just a little?!? Better then the Nasties? Wow...

    ReplyDelete
  40. Lol Yeah that was an overreaction. Okay I've seen better matches with Hulk Hogan in the last year... who we both know wasn't the best wrestler in his prime, let alone now.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Huh still, saying Hogan has had better matches then that WW/Batman fight may be too harsh as well! Let's face it, it's Hogan we're talking about!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Lol you didn't SEE that fight., It was over in seconds like Triple H vs. Warrior at Wrestlemania. What are some of your favorite comic book fights by the way? Just curious..

    ReplyDelete
  43. Right off the top of my head is the Hal/Sinestro fight at the end of the Sinestro War storyline. I loved that they were both depowered and just basically beat the hell out of each other until only one man was left standing... It doesn't get any more awesome then that! Hmm, the Magneto/X-Men battle from X-Men #25 is another favorite. Like the Hal/Sinestro brawl, that fight was just an ugly battle, except they all had their powers, making it all the more hectic. I'm sure there are like hundreds of fights I can remember really enjoying, but those two are the two that come to my head the fastest. What about you, JT? Let's see if I've read any of your favorites.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hm, good pick with the Hal/Sinestro fight. Some of my favorite fights, although not really a fight one is Deathstroke vs. the JLA. Another is Superman vs. Batman with Supes powers from the Superman/Batman comic because the tables were stacked in Bruce's favor for once. Another is the huge fight between the Titans and Deathstroke's Titans, I remember being really into that.

Mine aren't as epic but just small battles for the most part that I really really enjoyed. Oh and everyone of Prime's fights in Infinite Crisis.
