Magneto: Dark Seduction #3(Aug. 2000)

Wow, my word of the day is DEFINITELY, "Pontificating"!

  1. Yo X who drew this? The art is really solid and I'm curious now. Also, if you don't have a DC character for this week can I nominate Black Canary?

  2. The pencils came from Roger Cruz while Andy Owens and "Thibert" who only has one name, although I'd guess it's Art Thibert.

Believe it or not JT, I was leaning towards finally doing a Jason Todd week! I just finished off a few Jason Todd as Robin Batman books, and I figured I could mainly take pics from there with the week ending with a few things from the Under The Hood story. For the record, I doubt I'd post anything from the Death in the Family comics or any non-Judd Winick written Jason Todd stuff. You know I've only read DitF ONE time, and that was like 15 years ago, back before I was ever a DC fan? My best friend growing up was huge into Superman and Batman, while I was into everything X-Men. I eventually corrupted him into dropping Batman for X-Men(Fear my awesome powers!), so he collected Superman and X-Men. He kept trying to convince me to try DC, but being stubborn, I just wouldn't. He gave me his DitF trade to try to sway me, but it actually kind of sickened me, and solidified my stance as anti-DC. I couldn't believe they had killed off one of their iconic characters in such a vile fashion. Fast foward several years and I'm now happily buying DC comics, when I spot the DitF trade cheap... As a collector I really wanted it, but I knew I probably wouldn't read it, because Jason's death was so horrendous. In the end, I did buy it, but to this day, a year and a few months later, I still haven't even opened it...

After that rather long-winded story, I'm going to leave it completely up to you, JT. If you want a Jason Todd week, I'm game for it. If not, I'll do a BC week instead. Let me know by Sunday night though!

Hmm, you know, maybe I should steal your poll idea and use it to see what character to spotlight every week...

  3. Wow you are evil :P I love how you bought it and never read it, to be honest I doubt I could ever read it again too, and I'm all for a Jason Todd week. Black Canary can wait, move over, it's my time now! Haha

Feel free dude, steal my poll idea, speaking of which I need to put up a new one now.

  4. Great, starting tomorrow, Jason Todd week!

If I ever did decide to read DitF again, I'd probably immediately read the comics where Jason comes back right afterwards to wash the bad taste out of my mouth...

  5. So gladly I won't come to this site and see Jason getting OWNED like most people in their week here at the UCBS. I feel like Dinah got pushed to the side AGAIN lol, poor Dinah Queen..

  6. I was SO tempted to post a pic of Jason getting beaten up by Crazy-Quilt to start this week off, but out of respect for you(plus I was afraid you'd hunt me down)I decided not to!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Lol really?! Crazy Quilt of all people? Was he still blind when that happened?! And nah I'd just sic the Ultimate Warrior on you.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Man, I can't even fully remember the story... I think he could see only three colors or something dumb like that. But yeah, even though he was half blind(or something)I can remember him giving Jason such a beating that at the end of the issue, Jason's beaten body was found by Batman in an alley, and Batman goes all super dramatic and begins screaming about how he let Robin die or something like that!

  9. Little did he know, he later would. Damn you Batman for your bad parenting. Okay wait, I just thought of something, is Hal the only hero to not have a kid sidekick? Supes doesn't count since they have Superboy.

  10. WELL, I did read a mini-series(the Brave and the Bold from the late 90's I think)where for one issue, Hal turned Wally West into Kid Lantern... Since it was only one issue though, I'm not sure if you'd want to count it.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Lol wait.. what?! Please elaborate.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Well, since I read this like a month or two ago, it's still pretty fresh on my mind! First off, this mini-series was about Hal and Barry's relationship through the years, so each issue would deal with a different time period during there friendship, which was pretty cool. Anyway, Hal and Barry were fighting two of their enemies who teamed up(I want to say Mirror Master and Black Hand, but I may be wrong)and Wally(as Kid Flash)was also in the battle. Somehow, Black Hand(if that was him there)blasted Wally with some weapon that removed his super-speed. The villains then made their getaway. So since hal felt responsible for Wally losing his speed, he gave him some of his Green Lantern power, making him Kid Lantern, and making Barry INSANELY jealous(which was pretty funny in itself! So Hal and Wally trained(while Barry brooded)and eventually the heroes defeated the villains, and Wally decided to regain his speed powers to be Barry's sidekick again... Or something like that!

  13. Man this sounds awesome, what's this called, I gotta find it somewhere. Also how the hell can he just GIVE him power haha, didn't know Lanterns could do that.

    ReplyDelete
  14. It was called "Flash and Green Lantern: The Brave and the Bold" Let's see if I can get a link up here... There's also a trade that collects all six issues as well.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Awesome, thanks dude. I'll try to find the trade because that story sounds pretty awesome. Man, If Barry got Jealous, I know Ollie was FURIOUS. Wally's cutting in on Ollie and Hallie time.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You know the funny thing, and it's something I had never thought about until reading that mini, Barry's a real straight arrow, conservative guy, being a cop and all, while Ollie was a FAR left wing liberal during this story, so it was pretty funny watching their antics, with poor Hal stuck in the middle.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hey, another thing, I'm pretty impressed I was able to embed that link into that comment!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hm.. that never even crossed my mind. Also the irony of Barry being straight arrow is not lost on me. Also, Ollie DOES make an appearance in that story?

And I'm also shocked you were able to do that. It's like teaching an old man how to use twitter. :P Lol

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh yeah, one whole issue is done on Ollie, Hal and Barry's relationship, and that was back when Ollie and Hal were doing their Hard Travelling Heroes thing, so Ollie was REALLY against the establishment at the time. So you had anti-authority Ollie and authority figure/police officer Barry, with Hal caught in the middle.

"And I'm also shocked you were able to do that. It's like teaching an old man how to use twitter." Ouch!!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. That sounds pretty interesting. Now It's just the waiting, I ordered those the day ya linked me, thought I recalled seeing Ollie on cover 4. So whenever those get here I can get to reading.

Lol I'm just messing with ya buddy. For the record, I hate twitter though.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh yeah, cool. That were a fun little mini-series.

Man am I glad to hear that! I CAN'T STAND Twitter! No, I don't need to know when some c-list celebrity is taking a leak! I don't care! Yeah, I'm gonna sit around all day telling people what I've been doing minute by minute... "Well, I'm still sitting on the couch. I just got up to eat. That damn nieghbor was eyeballing me again, so I just axe-murdered him." Yeah, no thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Lol exactly dude. What annoys me is when people who aren't even popular have them. Why would I care what someone I went to Middle school with is eating for dinner? Really?! Am I supposed to care at all?!

    ReplyDelete
  23. "Why would I care what someone I went to Middle school with is eating for dinner?" Ha!!! I had to laugh, because it's so damn true! I mean dude, NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU'RE HAVING FOR DINNER!!! Sheesh!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Lol I mean no offense to anyone who has one, Because I believe Kello does but it's just not for me. I barely wanna tell people on facebook what I'm doing let alone doing JUST that on twitter.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yeah, Kello does indeed have a Twitter account, but I just don't see the need. Hell, I barely use my cell as it is, and I don't even HAVE a facebook page! I've got my blog, and that's enough for me!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Lol the only reason I have one is so I can keep in touch with the few people I'd like to from school. And I used to look for girls on it before I met Falisha haha. So on average, how many people do you talk to via your cell phone?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ha! Um, none... Seriously, since I've brought it(and I've only had it for maybe 3 weeks), I haven't made a SINGLE call with it!That's why I didn't have a cell phone for the longest time(after my last one broke), because I know I'll never use it. Most of the people I want to talk to I can talk to online or in person, so yeah, my cell phone just goes with me to collect dust!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Lol I feel i should give you my number just so you have someone to talk to lol. :P Well at least you have it whenever you need it. So do you at least text people with it?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ha, nope, I don't text anybody either! Seriously, my phone just sits on my coffee table, collecting dust, unless I have somewhere to go, then it sits in my pocket collecting... lint I guess. That's why I brought one of those uber-cheap phones though, because I'm just not that big a phone person, but I figured I should have one just in case.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Honestly I spend all my phone minutes and texts which are all unlimited, talking to Falisha, since she lives like 40 mins away and my car is broken and she doesn't have one anymore, so we only see each other Fridays, which sucks.

Lol so do you have a house phone either? Or just a cell?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yeah, well I can totally understand that, JT. I'm kind of the opposite, if I want to see anybody I know, I'll just hop in the car and drive to 'em(or better yet, I'll let them come to me!).

Nope, I don't, although I could with my cable, since that's how I have my internet. I've never really been much of a phone guy though, even as a kid. I'd rather pop in on(or e-mail) somebody as opposed to calling them up.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Letting them come to me is always awesome :) I need to get my car fixed... then I'll roadtrip to NY and we can all hang out lol.

I'm with ya, only person I talk to is Falisha, hell I met her online though lol. So that worked out pretty well.

So all you need if your laptop w/internet, TV, Cable, food and you're cool eh?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Awesome! Although you won't find anything intersting(besides me!)here in Binghamton, or as the locals lovingly call it, Bumington. I think the key attractions here are... um, there's a pretty good mall, and two colleges... Sadly that's it though.

Wow, so you guys met online? Awesome! Maybe there's hope for me yet! :-)

"So all you need if your laptop w/internet, TV, Cable, food and you're cool eh?" And comic books. You can't forget those. Oh and my PS3. I'd actually prob trade cable for my PS3 if worse came to worse though. Other then that though, yeah, that's about all I need to be happy.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Meh, we're coming to hang out with the Amazing X-Man, that's the key attraction my brother! Lol @ Bumington, what will they think of next?

Yeah dude, I just happened to be on this site called Crushspot.com that my friend talked me into joining, and they post who's online in rotation, I saw her page, thought she was cute and clicked it. Never said a word and left, she saw I was on her page, apparently thought I was cute and went to my page and chatted me up. Next thing I know we've been dating for two and a half years haha. And yeah, we just gotta get you on a hot women comic reading forum :D

Ah how did I forget comics?! I knew I was leaving something out. Hm, well you could always watch cable via the internet. So you can take five games, what games do you take, PS3 only of course.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yeah, I think that's as good a reason as any to come to Binghamton! Look at that, I AM the Binghamton attraction!

That's an awesome story. Yeah, if I could only be so lucky!

Hmm, 5 games, eh? Well obviously one would be Dragon Age. Besides that, I'd pick NHL 2010, Arkham Asylum, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Final Fantasy 7. Granted the last two are actually PS games, but since I play 'em on the PS3, I think they count. What about you, what games would you pick?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Of course you are, we're not coming to eat pizza and steal your comics :D

Well thank you sir. And I'm sure you will be, your blog is blowing up and pretty soon all the hot nerdy comic women will be throwing themselves at ya :)

Hm.. I'd take Dragon age, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 since I can play that online and always have different endings, um.. Uncharted 2, Arkham Asylum as well and Smackdown vs. Raw just because I gotta lol.
